We aimed to investigate the hepatoprotective effect of Heptex® capsules containing 200 mg of Dukung Anak (a powdered extract from aerial parts of Phyllanthus niruri) and 100 mg of Milk Thistle (a powdered extract from fruits of Silybum marianum) in patients with an apparent risk factor for NASH.

Methods: Ninety-three young adults, divided into open-skill athletes ( = 31), closed-skill athletes ( = 31), and a control group ( = 31), completed an auditory oddball task while the P3 component of event-related potentials was measured to assess attentional processing.

Background: Classic homocystinuria (HCU) is a rare inborn metabolic disease that is generally asymptomatic at birth. If untreated, it can cause a wide range of complications including intellectual disability, lens dislocation, and thromboembolism. This study aimed to describe the natural history and the molecular findings of patients with HCU, and to assess the importance of early diagnosis.

ICT-based fluorescent nanoparticles for selective cyanide ion detection and quantification in apple seeds.

In this report, we successfully engineered a novel probe based on an acceptor-donor-acceptor (A-D-A) architecture featuring dicyanovinyl-substituted thieno[3,2-]thiophene, termed DCVTT. The designed probe self-assembles into luminous nanoparticles (DCVTT NPs) upon introducing mixed aqueous solutions. These fluorescent nanostructures served as a ratiometric probe for detecting cyanide (CN) ions in aqueous-based environments, owing to the robust Intramolecular Charge Transfer (ICT) characteristics of DCVTT.

Design, Synthesis and Pro-Inflammatory Activity of Palmitoylated Derivatives of Thioglycolic Acid as New Immunomodulators.

The immune system is essential for the defense against infections and is critically implicated in various disorders, including immunodeficiency, autoimmunity, inflammation and cancer. The current study includes a new design of palmitoylated derivatives of thioglycolic acids (PTGAs) capable of triggering innate immune responses. The new series were accessible through a three-step synthetic route, including N-palmitoylation, Claisen-Schmidt condensation and thia-Michael addition.
