Avian coccidiosis remains one of the major parasitic diseases that threaten the global poultry industry. Since prevention is superior to treatment, this study focuses on eliminating the infection outside the host. To determine their effect on the viability of Eimeria tenella oocysts in vitro, allicin and alcoholic garlic extract, which are natural, less toxic, and inexpensive products, were compared to KOH 5% (chemical disinfectant) using an in vitro culture system.

Description of Novel Technique for Managing Insufficient Nasal Skin Volume.

A short nose is a common esthetic problem faced by facial plastic surgeons. Rhinoplasty of the short nose has been recognized as a complex procedure to perform for achieving satisfactory results. The authors presented 4 cases of short nose in 4 Saudi men who underwent rhinoplasty using septal extension graft and closure the skin with secondary intention as an option to control skin tension after graft placement and to increase nose skin volume to prevent skin retraction, which may occur postoperatively during the healing process.

Objectives: Reactive axillary lymph nodes (ALN) may occur post-COVID-19 vaccination. This may be confused with malignant nodal metastases on oncological imaging. We aimed to determine the reactive ALN incidence and duration on F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography - computed tomography (F-FDG PET-CT), and its relationship with gender, age and vaccine type.

Intensive research proved that oxidative stress is the common denominator for the four major destructive pathways of hyperglycemia including increased hexosamine pathway flux, activation of Protein kinase-C (PKC) pathway, increased Advanced Glycated End-products (AGEs) formation, and increased Polyol Pathway flux.

Serum cystatin C as an indicator for early detection of diabetic nephropathy in type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) refers to a group of common metabolic disorders that share the phenotype of hyperglycemia. The metabolic dysregulations associated with DM causes secondary pathophysiological changes in multiple organ systems which result in various complications, responsible for the morbidity and mortality associated with the disease.

Methods: The present study was carried out on 40 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, who were recruited from those attending outpatient clinic and inpatient of Internal Medicine Department at The National Institute of Diabetes and Endocrinology from January 2017 to june 2017.

The current study conducted to investigate the effects of a multi-strain commercial probiotic mix and prebiotic (isomaltooligosaccharide, IMO) on broiler performance parameters, cecal microbiota composition, and protection against challenge with avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) O78. For this purpose, 101-day-old Cobb chicks were randomly allocated into four experimental groups (G)-G01: basal diet, G02: basal diet and challenged with E. coli O78 at 28 days old, G03: basal diet with probiotic mix and challenged with E.

The impact of auditory rhythmic cueing on gross motor skills in children with autism.

[Purpose] This study aimed to investigate the effect of auditory rhythmic cueing on gross motor skills in children with autism. [Participants and Methods] A total of 30 autistic children aged 8-10 years with mild to moderate autistic features participated in this study. They were randomly allocated to either the control group (n=15), which underwent a specially designed physical therapy program, or the study group (n=15), which underwent the same program in addition to gait training with rhythmic auditory stimulation.

High performance metal-insulator-graphene diodes for radio frequency power detection application.

Vertical metal-insulator-graphene (MIG) diodes for radio frequency (RF) power detection are realized using a scalable approach based on graphene grown by chemical vapor deposition and TiO as barrier material. The temperature dependent current flow through the diode can be described by thermionic emission theory taking into account a bias induced barrier lowering at the graphene TiO interface. The diodes show excellent figures of merit for static operation, including high on-current density of up to 28 A cm, high asymmetry of up to 520, strong maximum nonlinearity of up to 15, and large maximum responsivity of up to 26 V, outperforming state-of-the-art metal-insulator-metal and MIG diodes.

Design, Synthesis, and Biological Evaluation of Potential Prodrugs Related to the Experimental Anticancer Agent Indotecan (LMP400).

Indenoisoquinoline topoisomerase I (Top1) inhibitors are a novel class of anticancer agents with two compounds in clinical trials. Recent metabolism studies of indotecan (LMP400) led to the discovery of the biologically active 2-hydroxylated analogue and 3-hydroxylated metabolite, thus providing strategically placed functional groups for the preparation of a variety of potential ester prodrugs of these two compounds. The current study details the design and synthesis of two series of indenoisoquinoline prodrugs, and it also reveals how substituents on the O-2 and O-3 positions of the A ring, which are next to the cleaved DNA strand in the drug-DNA-Top1 ternary cleavage complex, affect Top1 inhibitory activity and cytotoxicity.

This study provides a comprehensive computational procedure for the discovery of novel urea-based antineoplastic kinase inhibitors while focusing on diversification of both chemotype and selectivity pattern. It presents a systematic structural analysis of the different binding motifs of urea-based kinase inhibitors and the corresponding configurations of the kinase enzymes. Structure-based design and synthesis of novel pseudosaccharine derivatives as antiproliferative agents and kinase inhibitors.

This study is concerned with the implementation of structure-based techniques for the design of new heterocyclic compounds based on pseudosaccharine scaffold with protein kinase inhibition activity. This nucleus was exploited based on the well-known quinazoline core and its interactions with several protein kinases. Two series of compounds employing this new scaffold were synthesized and evaluated at enzymatic and cellular levels.

The VEGFR-2 extracellular domain is responsible for the homo-dimerization process, which has been recently reported as a main step in VEGFR signal transduction cascade. This cascade is essential for the vascularization and survival of most types of cancers.
