Properly understanding solar irradiance can help accurately quantify the solar energy resource and guide sustainable development projects, particularly where measured solar data are scarce or suffer from detrimental data quality issues. This study aims to assess and improve solar global horizontal irradiance (GHI) data from a diverse range of global reanalysis datasets by utilizing measured data from two ground weather stations located in Somaliland. Mutation analysis provides confirmation of a clinical and radiological diagnosis of thanatophoric dysplasia types I and II (TD I and II). We developed a single multiplexed PCR and a single-nucleotide extension (SNE) assay to identify 14 common mutations causing 99% of TD I and TD II, including the challenging three adjacent mutations in the stop codon of exon 18 of the FGFR3 gene. This study ascertains the effect of natural disasters, deforestation, and emissions on economic growth in Somalia using annual time series spanning 1990-2018. Contrary to previous attempts, this study utilized the kernel regularized least squares (KRLS) technique, robust Granger causality in the presence of instabilities, and novel supremum right-tail Augment Dickey-Fuller unit root to test explosive behaviors in data series. While two date-stamped explosive behaviors are detected in economic growth (2003-2012, 2014-2016) and FDI (2004, 2016-2018), one explosive behavior is observed in capital formation (2010-2018) and population density (2010-2018).

Since no country or health system can provide every possible health service to everyone who might benefit, the prioritisation of a defined subset of services for universal availability is intrinsic to universal health coverage (UHC). Friedreich ataxia is a rare autosomal recessive, neuromuscular degenerative disease caused by an expansion of a trinucleotide [guanine-adenine-adenine (GAA)] repeat in intron 1 of the FXN gene. It is common in the White population, characterized by progressive gait and limb ataxia, lack of tendon reflexes in the legs, loss of position sense, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Detection and genotyping of the trinucleotide repeat length is important for the diagnosis and prognosis of the disease.

Background: Differentiating pulmonary venoocclusive disease (PVOD) and pulmonary capillary hemangiomatosis (PCH) from idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (IPAH) or heritable pulmonary arterial hypertension (HPAH) is important clinically. Mutations in eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 alpha kinase 4 (EIF2AK4) cause heritable PVOD and PCH, whereas mutations in other genes cause HPAH.
