Evaluating palliative care's role in symptom management for CKD patients in Egypt: A quasi-experimental approach.

Objectives: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a global health challenge that affects patients' symptom burden and quality of life. Palliative care interventions show promise in addressing the multiple needs of CKD patients, focusing on symptom management, psychosocial support, and advance care planning. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of palliative care interventions in improving symptom management in patients with CKD.

Country-specific key lifestyle factors and health outcomes for resource allocation in the general population: a network analysis across 29 countries.

Background: We aimed to identify the central lifestyle, the most impactful among lifestyle factor clusters; the central health outcome, the most impactful among health outcome clusters; and the bridge lifestyle, the most strongly connected to health outcome clusters, across 29 countries to optimise resource allocation for local holistic health improvements.

Methods: From July 2020 to August 2021, we surveyed 16 461 adults across 29 countries who self-reported changes in 18 lifestyle factors and 13 health outcomes due to the pandemic. Three networks were generated by network analysis for each country: lifestyle, health outcome, and bridge networks.

Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS) is a severe developmental and epileptic encephalopathy characterized by multiple drug-resistant seizure types, cognitive impairment, and distinctive electroencephalographic patterns. Neuromodulation techniques, including vagus nerve stimulation (VNS), deep brain stimulation (DBS), and responsive neurostimulation (RNS), have emerged as important treatment options for patients with LGS who do not respond adequately to antiseizure medications. This research employs the treadmill of production (ToP) and legitimacy theories to examine the relationship between deforestation, ecological footprints, and corporate environmental responsibility (CER) in the context of green criminology within the Malaysian palm oil industry. The study employs a regression analysis to assess the connection between deforestation (total palm oil-planted hectares) and ecological footprints data spanning 2008 to 2018. Additionally, content analysis investigates the CER practices of 40 palm oil companies listed on Bursa Malaysia between 2016 and 2019.

Women experience lower wages than their male peers in nearly every major occupation, including medicine, and this further underscores how gender-based inequities within the practice of radiology are wide regarding pay, promotion opportunities, and leadership representation in diagnostic and interventional radiology. This review article analyzes the historical and current data for the gender pay gap in radiology relative to other medical specialties, as well as the influence of other intersecting factors, such as race or ethnicity.

This manuscript illuminates the need for childcare support for trainees and faculty in the field of radiology, highlighting the essential need for access, affordability, and high-quality childcare services. For over four decades, women radiologists have voiced the challenges of meeting both childcare and professional responsibilities. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted systemic inadequacies in the childcare infrastructure, exacerbating the challenges of this long-standing balancing act.
