The current work aimed to evaluate bee venom (BV) cytotoxic effect and its synergistic action when combined with cisplatin (CIS) against four types of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) cell lines. 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-Yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay for cell viability, reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) for expression of BCL2 associated X (BAX), B-cell lymphoma 2 (BCL2) and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) genes and, flow cytometry for cell cycle analysis were performed. MTT assay revealed that BV caused an approximately 50% cell death for UMSCC12, UMSCC29, UMSCC38 and, UMSCC47 cell lines after 72 hr with 54.

Sixty male Syrian hamsters were randomly divided into six equal groups. The hamsters of groups I, II and III received no treatment, DMBA and ACE respectively, for 16 weeks.

Methods: Ninety male albino rats were divided randomly into six equal groups. The rats of group I received corn oil via gastric feeding for 7 weeks.
Objective: Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) is the most common primary malignancy of the salivary glands. Insulin-like growth factor-II mRNA-binding protein-3 (IMP3) is an important prognostic factor in some cancers and a tool that differentiates between benign and malignant pancreatic lesions. This study aimed to identify a relationship between the expression of IMP3 and the outcome of salivary gland MEC, as well as to differentiate MEC from pleomorphic adenoma (PA).

Methods: Eighty adult male albino rats were selected and divided into four equal groups. Group I received no treatment.
Objective: To identify the possible biological roles of keratinocyte growth factor (KGF), connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) and transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) in cyclosporine-A (CsA) and phenytoin (PNT)-induced gingival overgrowth (GO) and to correlate them with each other.
Methods: Sixty adult male albino rats were selected and divided into 3 equal groups. Group I rats received no treatment.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of three different mouthwashes on the incidence of cyclosporine-A-induced gingival overgrowth.
Study Design: One hundred albino rats were divided into five equal groups. Group I rats received no treatment.
Background: Cytogenetic analysis has detected an accumulation of genetic lesions in oral cancers. Numerical changes in chromosome 17 might be associated with an up-regulation of p53 gene, and could contribute to critical events in carcinogenesis. The aim of this study was to reveal possible correlations between the numerical aberrations of chromosome 17, deletion or amplification of the P53 gene and histological grading in patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC).

Although these neoplasms exhibit nearly similar histologic patterns, their biologic behavior is significantly different. This study was carried out in an attempt to overcome the histological overlap between these tumors using immunohistochemical method for c-kit and galectin-3 proteins on twenty cases of salivary gland tumors including twelve ACC and eight PLGA.
