The present study investigates the neuroprotective effects of the sea urchin Paracentrotus lividus gonadal extract on rotenone-induced neurotoxicity in a Parkinson's disease (PD) rat model. Parkinson's disease, characterized by the progressive loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra (SN), is exacerbated by oxidative stress and neuroinflammation. The decision to rehabilitate insufficient alveolar bone height with short implants is considered an effective treatment. Complicated surgical procedures such as ridge augmentation, vestibuloplasty, and sinus lifting are usually accompanied by high risks such as membrane injury, hemorrhage, nerve affection, and increased time needed for implant treatment with unpredictable healing time. Short dental implants allow for faster treatment and decrease the need for complicated surgeries that are usually associated with standard dental implants, as in all four and all six concepts.

The polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon content of water (four surface water, six underground water (borehole water), seven sachet water), barbecued food and their fresh equivalents (barbecued beef, fish, plantain, pork, yam, chicken, chevon, potato, corn), oil (three palm oil, nine vegetable oil), and fresh vegetable samples (water leaf, bitter leaf, cabbage, carrot, cucumber, pumpkin, garlic, ginger, green leaf, Gnetum Africana, onion, pepper) were determined by GC-MS analysis. The current study also determined the estimated lifetime cancer risk from ingesting polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon-contaminated food. A new series of quinoxaline-sulfonamide derivatives 3-12 were synthesized using fragment-based drug design by reaction of quinoxaline sulfonyl chloride (QSC) with different amines and hydrazines. The quinoxaline-sulfonamide derivatives were evaluated for antidiabetic and anti-Alzheimer's potential against α-glucosidase, α-amylase, and acetylcholinesterase enzymes. A new series of 2H-chromene-based sulfonamide derivatives 3-12 has been synthesized and characterized using different spectroscopic techniques. The synthesized 2H-chromenes were synthesized by reacting activated methylene with 5-(piperidin-1-ylsulfonyl)salicylaldehyde through one-step condensation followed by intramolecular cyclization. Virtual screening of the designed molecules on α-glucosidase enzymes (PDB: 3W37 and 3A4A) exhibited good binding affinity suggesting that these derivatives may be potential α-glucosidase inhibitors.

A methodology for the mapping of residual stresses in metal alloys has been developed by analyzing an isotropic and homogeneous Al2024 alloy with scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM), combined with diffraction (4DSTEM) and electron energy loss spectroscopy (STEM-EELS) techniques of TEM. The investigations on the alloy's microstructure and elemental distributions were also carried out with conventional dark-field STEM (DFSTEM) and X-ray energy dispersive (EDS) techniques, respectively.
