Carbon dioxide (CO) is the top contributor to global warming. On the other, soot particles formed during fuel combustion and released into the atmosphere are harmful and also contribute to global warming. It would therefore be highly advantageous to capture soot and make use of it as a feedstock to synthesize carbon-based materials for applications such as carbon dioxide adsorption.

Single course of intravesical Bacillus Calmette-Guerin versus single course with maintenance therapy in the management of nonmuscle invasive bladder cancer: A prospective randomized study.

Objective: The objective of the study was to compare maintenance versus single course of intravesical Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) in the management of high-risk nonmuscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) regarding recurrence, progression, survival, and complications.

Patients And Methods: After transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT), Group I patients (33) received weekly doses of 90 mg of live attenuated Pasteur strain of BCG. The course was started 14 days after the second TURBT for 6 consecutive weeks.

Purpose: The purpose of the study is to assess the quality of transurethral resection of bladder tumors (TURBTs) performed by "senior" and "junior" urologists in terms of detrusor muscle (DM) presence at the initial resection and presence of missed and residual tumors at second-look TURBT.

For instance, liquid entry pressure (LEP) is one of the critical characteristics of hydrophobic membranes used in membrane distillation (MD) processes. In this study, pore-scale models were developed to assess the accuracy of two multiphase flow computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods, as modeling tools for predicting two-phase flow in microporous MD membranes.

Expression of TOMM34 and Its Clinicopathological Correlations in Urothelial Carcinoma of the Bladder.

The substantial difference between normal cells and cancer cells in terms of their energy metabolism in mitochondria provides an interesting basis for the development of novel therapeutic agents targeting energy machinery of tumour cells. TOMM34 is one of the Tom (translocase of the outer membrane of mitochondria) family that was found to be overexpressed in colorectal, hepatocellular, lung and early invasive breast carcinomas. The expression profile of mitochondrial translocases in bladder cancer compared to normal urinary bladder tissues has not been investigated yet.

Variable refrigerant flow cooling assessment in humid environment using different refrigerants.

Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) is a cooling system developed to anticipate and minimize operating and maintenance costs. VRF allows personalized control and maximizes flexibility to accommodate changing tenants in high rise and compound buildings in hot and humid environments. Although many studies have previously modeled VRF systems from an energy perspective, minor attempts have been made to analyze the exergy performance of this technology.

Evaluation of an educational program: a report from the hemodialysis unit in Zagaxig University hospitals, Egypt.

The knowledge and performance of hemodialysis nursing staff at Zagazig University Hospitals, Egypt, were evaluated using a quasi-experimental design. Participants received an educational program developed from international standards and national guidelines. The number of nurses who achieved satisfactory knowledge and performance scores increased significantly post-intervention, and were sustained for three months after the intervention.
