Immunisation of children under 5 years: mothers' knowledge, attitude and practice in Alseir locality, Northern State, Sudan.

Mothers are the major role players with regard to their children's immunisation. The aim of this study is to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of mothers of children below 5 years of age with regard to immunisation in Northern State, Sudan. This was a cross-sectional survey which was conducted in three villages in 2016.

Study on selected trace elements and heavy metals in some popular medicinal plants from Sudan.

This study reports on the determination of 11 elements in 33 medicinal plants from Sudan and discusses a possible correlation between their curative effects and their trace elements content. Further, a possible accumulation of adverse heavy metals could be excluded. A total of 11 elements (cadmium, lead, mercury, tin, copper, iron, manganese, zinc, chromium, selenium and magnesium) were determined using inductively coupled plasma (ICP)-optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES), ICP-sector field-mass spectrometry (ICP-sf-MS) and hydride generation (HG)-ICP-OES techniques.

The value of a completely automatic ECG gated blood pool SPECT processing method for the estimation of global systolic left ventricular function.

Objectives: Electrocardiographically gated blood pool SPECT (GBPS) is an interesting method for measuring left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction (LVEF) and volume. Recently, the availability of completely automatic GBPS processing software has been reported. We aimed to evaluate its reliability in measuring global LV systolic function.
