Background: Small intestine diverticula are rare findings that were mostly reported in the elderly population as asymptomatic findings. However, they can also present with a wide range of symptoms (bloating, early satiety, chronic abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea/steatorrhea) or complications (gastrointestinal bleeding, small bowel obstruction, acute diverticulitis, or perforation) which in turn warrant medical treatment or urgent surgical intervention.

Case Presentation: This is a case report of an 84-year-old female who presented with an acute surgical abdomen.

Neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase () fusion has been detected in rare types of CNS tumours, which can promote tumorigenesis. The efficacy of Trk inhibitor became a significant therapeutic interest. Our aim was to investigate whether Pan-Trk immunohistochemistry (IHC) is a reliable and efficient marker for detecting fusion in different brain tumours.

Aim Of The Study: Oligodendrocyte transcriptional factor-2 (Olig2) is an essential marker for oligodendrocytes expression. We aimed to explore the expression of Olig2 in different glial neoplasms and to investigate if diffuse Olig2 expression can replace 1p19q co-deletion for the diagnosis of oligodendroglioma.

Material And Methods: Olig2 was performed on 53 samples of different glial neoplasms using immunohistochemistry (IHC).

This study aimed to determine the impact of supplementation of turmeric powder on laying performance, egg quality, nutrient digestibility and some blood metabolites in laying hens. A total of one hundred and twenty Bovans Brown laying hens (55 weeks old) were assigned to one of four treatment diets (n = 30) for 12 weeks including turmeric powder at 0, 2.5, 5 or 7.

Background: Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class-1 antigen is a glycoprotein expressed in all nucleated cells. The aim of this study was to assess MHC class-I expression in different neuromuscular diseases.

Methods: The authors reviewed the data of 54 patients with neuromuscular diseases.

Purpose: Wilms tumor 1 () gene has recently shown a role in gliomagenesis, making it a potential immunotherapy target in glioblastomas. We aimed to investigate the most sensitive method to detect WT1 expression in glioblastoma and explore the relationship between expression, IDH1 mutation and recurrence interval.

Patients And Methods: Clinical data were collected from 44 patients with glioblastomas, treated with adjuvant therapies.

Objective: To assess the recurrence interval and predictive significance of TP53 expression and O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) promoter methylation in glioblastomas treated with radiotherapy and combined chemotherapies, including temozolomide, lomustine, procarbazine and bevacizumab.

Method: We reviewed the clinical outcomes of 52 totally resected glioblastoma patients, who received conventional radiotherapy and temozolomide with other chemotherapeutic agents. Correlation of TP53 expression and MGMT promotor methylation with recurrence interval was analyzed using Kaplan Meier estimates.

High-throughput sequencing (HTS) of human T cell receptors has revealed a high level of complexity in the T cell repertoire, which makes it difficult to correlate T cell reconstitution with clinical outcomes. The associations identified thus far are of a broadly statistical nature, precluding precise modeling of outcomes based on T cell repertoire development following bone marrow transplantation (BMT). Previous work has demonstrated an inherent, mathematically definable order observed in the T cells from a diverse group of donors, which is perturbed in recipients following BMT.

Oroantral fistula (OAF) is a pathologic communication between the oral cavity and the maxillary sinus. It is usually associated with maxillary sinusitis, where drainage of sinus infection is a mandatory step during closure of the fistula. The flap used for closure of OAF should be tension free, broadly based and well vascularized.

Velopharyngeal surgical procedures may have adverse effect on the airway of the patients with velopharyngeal insufficiency (VPI). The aim of this study was to evaluate the polysomnographic parameters (PSG) in patients who underwent corrective surgery for treatment of VPI. The study included 39 patients who underwent 1 of 3 velopharyngeal surgical techniques; Furlow palatoplasty (12 patients), pharyngeal flap (18 patients), and sphincter pharyngoplasty (9 patients).

Objective: Oronasal fistula represents a functional problem, as it may result in nasal regurgitation of food and fluids and it also leads to hypernasal speech. Many methods have been proposed for its closure with a high recurrence rate. The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy of closure of hard palate fistula by two layers of mucoperiosteal flaps.

This study determined the pattern of skin prick test reactivity to allergens in patients with airway allergy residing in Rabigh Area, based on data analysis of skin prick test results. Skin prick tests of 160 Saudi attended Al Nakheel Polyclinic between July, 2012 and April, 2013. Allergen extracts set was used to test them.
