Article Synopsis
  • - This study assessed the effectiveness of non-invasive methods like the Anterior Drawer test, Lachman test, and MRI for diagnosing ACL injuries after trauma, using arthroscopy as the reference standard.
  • - Conducted over six months with 86 knee injury participants, results showed the majority were male (77.91%) and road traffic accidents were the primary cause of injuries (63.95%).
  • - MRI proved most effective with a sensitivity of 98.57% and diagnostic accuracy of 96.51%, while the Lachman and Anterior Drawer tests had sensitivities of 90% and 88.57%, respectively.

Background: This study aims to compare the effect of two different ventilation strategies on cerebral oxygenation in children undergoing posterior fossa tumor excision surgeries.

Methods: Children scheduled for posterior fossa tumor surgeries were enrolled in this randomized, double-blinded, controlled cross-over trial. After induction of general anesthesia and positioning, participants were randomized to have mild hyperventilation for 30 min (phase 1) followed by normal ventilation for another 30 min (phase2) (early hyperventilation group, n = 23), or normal ventilation for 30 min (phase 1) followed by hyperventilation for 30 min (phase 2) (early normoventilation group, n = 19).
