Background And Objective: Laparoscopic surgery is one of the most commonly performed surgeries in general surgery, with fewer side effects and rapid recovery. Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) remains the main challenge that confronts the prognosis of this minimally invasive surgery. We aimed to evaluate the effect of acupressure, a nonpharmacological non-invasive method, on the incidence of nausea and vomiting following laparoscopic surgery within the early phase (first six hours postoperatively) and the extended phase (for at least 24 h postoperatively).

Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) causing severe acute respiratory distress syndrome caused by coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) still has no solid effective therapy.From previous studies, dexamethasone has led to a decrease in mortality in patients who required oxygen supplementation mainly invasive mechanical ventilation; at the same time, it is unknown if another corticosteroid can be effective when used and what is the optimal dose and its duration, to achieve improvement in clinical outcome.The cornerstone of the study was to compare the differences in clinical outcome and laboratory results in intensive care patients with SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia treated with dexamethasone 6 mg/day: doses versus those treated with methylprednisolone 2 mg/kg/day infusion.

Background: Pridopidine is a novel drug that helps stabilize psychomotor function in patients with Huntington's disease (HD) by activating the cortical glutamate pathway. It promises to achieve the unmet needs of current therapies of HD without worsening other symptoms.
