The study aimed to evaluate how parents in Qatar view and accept the concept of a dental home for their preschool children.
Results showed that while over 90% of parents recognized the importance of oral health, only 18% rated their children's oral health as excellent, and many children had not seen a dentist in the past year due to various barriers.
The study suggests that improved counseling from primary-care physicians could enhance the acceptance of dental homes, as access to healthcare is generally good in the community.
