High levels of series compensation in transmission lines, particularly those integrated with wind farms, exacerbate the risk of sub-synchronous oscillation (SSO), a phenomenon detrimental to system stability. Gate-controlled series capacitor (GCSC) is one of the used means to mitigate the SSO and enhance power transfer capability. In the previous studies, the combined proportional-integral controller with supplementary damping controller was an effective approach for controlling the GCSC and mitigating the SSO.

The Computed Tomography (CT) scan of his chest showed cavitating consolidation with hydropneumothorax. Despite chest tube insertion and antibiotics, the patient did not improve.

Methods: Sixty human mandibular first molars were selected, and a 4-mm portion of #25/.04 rotary files were separated in the middle third of moderately curved mesio-buccal canals.
Since it is requested that the smashed straw should not be scattered onto the stubble in the first season harvest, a smashing and scattering device matched with the first season harvester of ratoon rice was designed in this paper to smash and scatter the straw into the rolling area. The main structural parameters affecting the straw scattering performance were determined by theoretical analysis of the deflecting performance of the straw deflector. EDEM software was used to simulate and analyze the straw scattering situation under the action of the deflector.

Every thresher has its limitation for feeding, and when the feeding quantity exceeds the maximum rated amount, the thresher gets blocked, resulting in higher losses, low threshing efficiency, more power consumption, and combine overloading shutting down. This study constructed a longitudinal axial flow rice threshing platform, and a stress monitoring system for the threshing drum top cover was designed using force sensing resistors.

We report the case of a 32-year-old male in Qatar who intentionally ingested seeds from Jimson weed mixed with milk. The patient became severely confused and delirious, eventually requiring admission to the intensive care unit (ICU) for two days for management.

Apart from calcium channel blockers, which are considered to be the drugs of choice, evidence of the effects of alternative pharmacological treatments is limited. This is an update of a review first published in 2008.

Later on, its application expanded to include younger children and other types of epilepsy. We report our experience with this treatment modality for refractory epilepsy in Saudi Arabia.
