Neurological rehabilitation is a physician-supervised programme for individuals with nervous system diseases, injuries or disorders. Neurological rehabilitation, also known as neurorehabilitation, is part of the rehabilitation process that improves function, reduces severity and enhances a patient's well-being. Because neurological injuries occur in the brain, spine and nerves, affecting multiple body parts including organs, blood vessels, muscles and bones, rehabilitation requires a multidisciplinary approach.

Impact of tunnelling on piles in Parisian subsoil: dataset of in-situ measurements in the ground and on three instrumented piles.

A major full-scale experiment (the TULIP - Tunneling and Limitations on the Impact on Piles - research project) was conducted in 2020 on Line 16 of the Grand Paris Express project (France). Its objective was to analyze the tunnel boring machine-soil-pile interactions occurring during tunnel excavation near piled structures in the context of the geology of the Paris basin. This data paper summarizes the main measurements made during this experiment, namely: (i) the horizontal and vertical displacements measured in the ground, on the surface and in the thickness of the cover, (ii) the settlements of the pile heads, and the variations of the normal forces in the pile depth.

The executive disruption model of tinnitus distress: Model validation in two independent datasets using factor score regression.

This study presents the executive disruption model (EDM) of tinnitus distress and subsequently validates it statistically using two independent datasets (the Construction Dataset: = 96 and the Validation Dataset: = 200). The conceptual EDM was first operationalised as a structural causal model (construction phase). Then multiple regression was used to examine the effect of executive functioning on tinnitus-related distress (validation phase), adjusting for the additional contributions of hearing threshold and psychological distress.

Localized tetanus mimics acute perforated viscus: A diagnostic challenge and review of case reports.

Abdominal tetanus is the rarest presentation of localized tetanus in which other muscles are not involved. Proper diagnosis is challenging as it mimics acute abdomen. We describe the challenges in diagnosing this atypical localized tetanus in an adult and a review of case reports.

ICTs, growth, and environmental quality nexus: dynamic panel threshold regression.

ICTs (information and communication technologies) have emerged as a potent new force. Digitalization, modernization, and automation of the manufacturing process are expected to facilitate ICT adoption, resulting in increased genuine environmental concerns. This research aims to examine the impact of ICTs on environmental quality and the relationship between ICTs, environmental quality, and economic growth.

Impact of financial development and technological innovation on the volatility of green growth-evidence from China.

China's green growth has shown a trend of fluctuation year by year. Simultaneously, Chinese local governments have pursued simple economic growth driven by the interests of "political competition" for a long time, while the supervision of the ecological environment has been loosened and tightened. In this environment, financial development and technological innovation may easily become the accelerator of this phenomenon, thus exacerbating the fluctuation of green growth.

Anti-Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide Antibody and Periodontal Status in Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients.

Objectives: Studies have shown that periodontal disease and Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) shared similar pathogenesis. Background: Eurycoma longifolia Jack (ElJ) has been shown to elevate serum testosterone and increased muscle strength in humans. This study investigated the effects of Physta(®) a standardized water extract of ElJ (400 mg/day for 6 weeks) on testosterone: epitestosterone (T:E) ratio, liver and renal functions in male recreational athletes.

Methods: A total of 13 healthy male recreational athletes were recruited in this double blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over study.

Several equations have been used to predict lung function standard results for different populations. It is important lung function evaluations use appropriate standards for the study population. The objective of this study was to develop a prediction equation for lung function test results for the Malaysian population.

Ethnicity and glycaemic control are major determinants of diabetic dyslipidaemia in Malaysia.

Aims: To define the prevalence of dyslipidaemia in young diabetic patients in Peninsular Malaysia and the contributory factors of dyslipidaemia in these subjects.

Methods: This is a cross-sectional study involving 848 young diabetic patients from seven different centres, with representation from the three main ethnic groups. Clinical history and physical examination was done and blood taken for HbA1c, fasting glucose, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol and triglycerides.

Two thousand five hundred and eight subjects from the state of Kelantan in North-East Peninsular Malaysia were included in this study to determine the prevalence of diabetes mellitus and impaired glucose tolerance and their association with cardiovascular risk factors. The overall prevalence of diabetes mellitus was 10.5% and impaired glucose tolerance was 16.

Sociodemographic determinants of glycaemic control in young diabetic patients in peninsular Malaysia.

Recent studies have shown that good glycaemic control can prevent the development of diabetic complications in type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Height and body weight were measured in 2,284 subjects over 20 years old. The subjects were chosen by cluster sampling in 9 districts of Kelantan. Blood was drawn after an overnight fast for measurement of cholesterol (chol), triglyceride (TG), VLDL and HDL-Chol.

Urinary iodine excretion in the northeast of Peninsular Malaysia.

A total of 2,034 subjects aged 15 years and above from different parts of the State of Kelantan were studied to determine goiter size and urinary iodine excretion. The State was divided into 2 areas - area 1 consisting of localities in the districts near the coast and area 2 consisting of localities in the inland districts. There were 1,050 subjects in area 1 and 984 subjects in areas 2.

Carcinoma of thyroid--clinical presentation and outcome.

The clinical, biochemical and pathological features of 31 patients with thyroid carcinoma managed at Hospital Universiti Sains Málaysia, Kubang Kerian from 1985 to 1989 were analyzed. There were 25 females and 6 males. The types of carcinoma were: papillary-17 cases; follicular-10 cases; medullary-2 cases and anaplastic-2 cases.
