Negative ANA-IIF in SLE patients: what is beyond?

Unlabelled: The antinuclear antibody (ANA) test has high sensitivity in diagnosing and classifying systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Objectives: To describe the immunological pattern of SLE patients through investigating specific antinuclear autoantibodies by enzyme dot immunoassay and studying their frequency in both positive and negative ANA indirect immunofluorescence assay (IIF) cases.

Methods: In a cross-sectional study, blood samples from 393 newly diagnosed SLE patients were analyzed using (IIF) on HEp-2 cells and ANA dot immunoassay by automated enzyme immunoassay (EIA) to detect 19 antibodies.

Comparison of the microstructural, physicochemical and sensorial properties of buffalo meat patties produced using bowl cutter, universal mixer and meat mixer.

This work aimed to evaluate the microstructural, physicochemical and sensorial properties of buffalo meat patties produced using different mixing equipment (bowl cutter, universal mixer, and meat mixer). Scanning electron microscopy revealed a more homogenize emulsion, cohesive structure and smaller pore size of patties produced using the bowl cutter, which significantly reduced the total fluid release, water release, fat release and cooking loss as compared to the universal mixer and meat mixer. Production of the buffalo meat patties using bowl cutter also improved the moisture retention and gel strength of the patties.

Shared Decision-Making and Role Preference Among Patients With Schizophrenia in Malaysia: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Shared decision-making (SDM) is recognized as a promising strategy for improving collaboration between clinicians and their patients in achieving recovery. In Malaysia, SDM among people with schizophrenia is still lacking both in practice and in research. This study aimed to determine the level of SDM and role preference and their associated factors among patients with schizophrenia in Malaysia.

'Robot' Hand Illusion under Delayed Visual Feedback: Relationship between the Senses of Ownership and Agency.

The rubber hand illusion (RHI) is an illusion of the self-ownership of a rubber hand that is touched synchronously with one's own hand. While the RHI relates to visual and tactile integration, we can also consider a similar illusion with visual and motor integration on a fake hand. We call this a "robot hand illusion" (RoHI), which relates to both the senses of ownership and agency.

Clinical efficacy of novel unidirectional buccoadhesive vs. vaginoadhesive bromocriptine mesylate discs for treating pathologic hyperprolactinemia.

Objective: To test the clinical effectiveness of new bioadhesive unidirectional buccal and vaginal bromocriptine methylate discs in hyperprolactinemic patients.

Design: A preliminary randomized comparative study.

Setting: A pharmaceutical phase at the departments of Pharmaceutics, Faculties of Pharmacy, Assiut and El-Minea universities and a clinical phase at the Infertility Out-patient Clinic of Women's Health University Center, Assiut University, Assiut, Egypt.
