Small molecules targeting CK2 have been described in the literature targeting different binding pockets of the kinase with a focus on type I inhibitors such as the recently published chemical probe SGC-CK2-1. Methods: The current survey cycle of the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) study gives an insight into the prevalence of the indicators daily recommended physical activity, high and low physical activity, and sporting activity among students aged between 11 and 15 for 2022. In addition, the data is compared to the survey cycles of the 2009/10, 2013/14, and 2017/18 school years and analysed over time.
Objective: This study aimed to assess the feasibility and effects of a simple-to-implement multicomponent intervention to reduce sedentary time of office workers.
Methods: Six groups of eight to ten office workers took part in the two-week Leicht Bewegt intervention. Participants completed questionnaires at baseline (T0, n = 52), after 2 weeks (T1, n = 46), and after 5 weeks (T2, n = 38), including subjective sedentary measures and social-cognitive variables based on the health action process approach (HAPA).
The incidence of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) has substantially increased during the last 20 years and their rupture remains the third most common cause of sudden death in the cardiovascular field after myocardial infarction and stroke. The only established clinical parameter to assess AAAs is based on the aneurysm size. Novel biomarkers are needed to improve the assessment of the risk of rupture.

Study Design: For HPV E6/E7 mRNA testing an amplification assay was used. For DNA determination a hybridization assay was applied.
Objectives: To constitute a registry on acromegaly, AcroBel, to evaluate the epidemiology and quality of care of acromegaly in Belgium and Luxembourg.
Design: A nationwide survey from June 2003 till September 2004 aiming to collect data from all patients with acromegaly who had visited the participating endocrine clinics after 1 January 2000.
Methods: Retrospective data collection coupled to a visit within the survey period, allowing sampling of metabolic parameters and centralised determination of GH and IGF-I.

For more than 30 years, growth hormone (GH) has been observed to be preferentially secreted during deep, slow-wave sleep (SWS). However, the mechanisms that underlie this robust relationship that links anabolic processes in the body with behavioral rest and decreased cerebral metabolism remain to be elucidated. Current evidence indicates that GH secretion during the beginning of sleep appears to be primarily regulated by GH-releasing hormone (GHRH) stimulation occurring during a period of relative somatostatin withdrawal, which also is associated with elevated levels of circulating ghrelin.

Methods: We retrieved 43 consecutive patients with TSH-secreting pituitary tumors (23 male and 20 female) among 4400 pituitary adenomas followed between 1976 and 2001 in six Belgian and French centers.
Results: TSH was elevated in 18/43 and alpha subunit in 13/32 patients.
The clinical activities of the department of endocrinology encompass the care and treatment of diabetes, thyroid diseases, hypothalamo-pituitary, adrenal, gonadic and parathyroid diseases, obesity, hypercholesterolemia and paraneoplastic endocrine syndromes. These domains are briefly described. The research activities of the department have investigated the regulation of thyroid metabolism in vitro, the intrathyroid H2O2 generating system, the physiopathology of toxic thyroid nodules and the effects of ageing on the thyreotropic function of the normal ageing male.

Objective: Slow-release (SR) lanreotide is a long-acting somatostatin analog that has been developed in order to overcome the inconvenience of multiple daily subcutaneous injections of octreotide, required for metabolic control in acromegaly. Lanreotide SR has been found to be well tolerated and effective in reducing GH and IGF-I levels but clinical data are still limited compared with those with subcutaneous octreotide treatment.
Design: Sixty-six unselected patients with active acromegaly were therefore evaluated in a multi-center, prospective, open label study.
