α-FeO Magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) have been synthesized, functionalized at silica that ends up with -NH group to form FMNPs. Conjugation of FMNPs with a fluorescently-labeled poly-caspase inhibitor valylalanylaspartic acid fluoromethyl ketone (SR-FLICA) which serves as a pan-caspase inhibitor was carried out to form finally a hybrid probe SR-FLICA-FMNPs. This probe could be used as a multimodal magneto-fluorescent platform for live apoptotic cells monitoring using MR and fluorescence imaging techniques.

Therefore, a bioelectrochemical sensing platform with a high potential to the microbial-electrode interactions was designed based on decorated graphene oxide (GO) sheet with alumina (AlO) nanocrystals. GO-AlO nanocomposite was synthesized using self-assembly of GO and AlO and characterized using the scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), x-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman-spectroscopy, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and cyclic voltammetry (CV).

In this study, hexagonally ordered mesoporous silica hybrid anodic alumina membranes (AAM) were synthesized using template-guided synthesis with a number of nonionic n-alkyl-oligo(ethylene oxide), Brij-type (C(x)EO(y)), which are surfactants that have different molecular sizes and characteristics. The hexagonal mesoporous silicas are vertically aligned in the AAM channels with a predominantly columnar orientation.

The metal complexes used in this study were Fe(CN)6(3-), Ru(NH3)6(3-), ferrocenecarboxylic acid (Fc-COO-), (ferrocenylmethyl)-trimethylammonium (Fc-NMe3+), N,N-(dimethylamminomethyl)ferrocene (Fc-NMe2), and ferrocene methanol (Fc-OH).
