Background: There is enough evidence of the negative impact of excess weight on the formation and progression of res piratory pathology. Given the continuing SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, it is relevant to determine the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and the clinical features of the novel coronavirus infection (NCI).

Aim: To study the effect of BMI on the course of the acute SARS-COV-2 infection and the post-covid period.

Aim      To study the effect of regular drug therapy for cardiovascular and other diseases preceding the COVID-19 infection on severity and outcome of COVID-19 based on data of the ACTIVE (Analysis of dynamics of Comorbidities in paTIents who surVived SARS-CoV-2 infEction) registry.Material and methods  The ACTIVE registry was created at the initiative of the Eurasian Association of Therapists. The registry includes 5 808 male and female patients diagnosed with COVID-19 treated in a hospital or at home with a due protection of patients' privacy (data of nasal and throat smears; antibody titer; typical CT imaging features).

The literature review is concerned with the distribution of antibiotic-resistant enterobacteria in sewage and surface ponds. The analysis of the published data provided the conclusion that antibiotic resistant representatives of the family Enterobacteriaceae are widely distributed in water object of the environment that could be hazardous for men. Of special attention should be the fact of the R(+)-coliform bacteria distribution which is the general index of the fecal pollution.

Acid-base equilibrium, glycolytic parameters, electrophoretic mobility and hemoglobin oxygen affinity in blood of rats exposed to hyperbaric oxygenation were measured. The animals were kept at 2026 kPa for 15, 30 or 60 min. It was found that the short-term oxygenation led to changes in acid-base equilibrium, then to biochemical changes in plasma and erythrocytes and, consequently, to a higher oxygen-binding ability of hemoglobin.

Studies have been made on the amino acid composition of electrophoretically homogeneous albumin and its main isoelectrically homogeneous fraction in two strains of hens and their hybrid. Serum albumin of hen and hybrid is characterized by higher total content of Asp and Glu residues as compared with that of the cock (137, 121, and 116 respectively) and lower content of Lys (59 against 66). The acidity of albumin increases in the line cock-hen-hybrid.
