Diverticular disease of the small bowel: a rare cause of the duodenojejunal flexure obstruction (a case report).

The small bowel is the least common site for diverticula in the entire gastrointestinal tract. Chronic upper intestinal obstruction due to diverticula is very rare. We report a case of multiple small bowel diverticula causing mechanical obstruction of the duodenojejunal flexure.

Chest CT-scan finding of asymptomatic COVID-19 pneumonia: a prospective 542 patients' single center study.

Since asymptomatic infections as "covert transmitter", and some patients can progress rapidly in the short term, it is essential to pay attention to the diagnosis and surveillance of asymptomatic patients with SARS-COV2 infection. CT scan has great value in screening and detecting patients with COVID-19 pneumonia, especially in the highly suspected or probable asymptomatic cases with negative RT-PCR for SARS-COV2. This study aimed to detect incidentally COVID-19 pneumonia on medical imaging for patients consulting for other reasons.

Temporal choroidal fissure cyst: a rare cause of temporal lobe epilepsy.

Only a few cases of temporal choroidal fissure cyst are reported. We describe a new case of an 8 years old girl who manifested complex partial seizure. The diagnosis was made by magnetic resonance imagining (MRI).

A giant aneurysm of the left anterior descending coronary artery in the setting of Behcet's disease.

Behcet's disease is a chronic inflammatory syndrome that can affect arteries and veins of all sizes and is an unusual cause of myocardial infarction. We report a case of a 42-year-old male with no cardiovascular risk factors who was referred to our department for a spontaneously resolving anterior ST-elevation myocardial infarction. Clinical and biological investigations revealed a high probability for Behcet's disease.

Case Report: Concomitant coronary stent and femoral artery thrombosis in the setting of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia.

Heparin induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) is a rare but potentially life threatening  adverse drug reaction. We report an unusual case of concomitant subacute coronary stent and femoral artery thrombosis secondary to HIT. In the current era of extensive growth of heparin use and percutaneous coronary interventions, it's important for clinicians to remember that such complication might occur and should be prevented.

Orbital varix: rare cause of blepharospasm.

Orbital varix (or varicose) is an exceptional pathology with poor clinical sign. The blepharospasm can be a revealing cause. The long-term risk is optic atrophy and blindness.

Strangulated obturator hernia: a case report with literature review.

Obturator hernia is rare. It occurs when part of the pelvic contents protrude through the obturator foramen. It is a diagnostic challenge in the emergency department since the signs and symptoms are non-specific.

Priapism in the Newborn: Shall We Intervene?

Idiopathic neonatal priapism is rarely published. We report the case of a newborn presenting with priapism on the first day of life and reviewed the published data on the management and the follow up of this condition.

An unusual etiology of posttraumatic Collet-Sicard Syndrome: a case report.

Posttraumatic Unilateral paralysis of the last four cranial nerves (IX-XI), known as collet-Sicard syndrome, is rare following closed head injury. A 21-year-old man presented with slurred speech, hoarseness voice and difficulty swallowing his saliva following closed head trauma. The cranial nerve examination revealed left sided severe dysfunction of cranial nerves VII, IX, X, XI, and XII.

Congenital neuroblastoma presenting with paraplegia following spinal puncture in a neonate. Case report and review of the literature.

Neuroblastoma is the most common intraspinal solid tumor of childhood. Neurological deterioration due to an intratumoral hemorrhage following a spinal puncture is extremely rare. We report on the case of a 23-day-old neonate who was admitted to our institution for the onset of a paraplegia following a diagnostic lumbar puncture.

Unusual presentation of severely disseminated and rapidly progressive hydatic cyst: Malignant hydatidosis.

The infection caused by the tapeworm Echinococcus granulosus leads to the development of hydatic disease. It is the most frequent mediterranean parasitic infection that commonly affects the liver and rarely involves multiple organs. Herein, we report an exceptional and confusing presentation of hepatopulmonary and splenic hydatidosis due to Echinococcus granulosus that caused diagnostic problems occuring in a 70-year-old man, treated with chemotherapy, with favorable outcome.

Perinatally discovered complete tubular colonic duplication associated with anal atresia.

Complete tubular colonic duplication (CTCD) is exceedingly rare. The association of CTCD with an anorectal malformation is unusual. This malformation may be found unexpectedly at laparotomy.

Lipoblastoma: a rare lesion in the differential diagnosis of childhood mediastinal tumors.

Lipoblastoma is a rare, benign, fatty tissue tumor that occurs in childhood. The location of this tumor in the mediastinum and extension to the chest wall is uncommon. We describe a 12-month-old male infant with a mediastinal lipoblastoma discovered because of a chest wall swelling.

[Iliopsoas abscess: a rare complication of pyogenic sacroiliitis in a child].

Pyogenic sacroiliitis is a rare entity in children. Diagnosis is often delayed because of its variable clinical presentation, low suspicion by the examining physician, and rare findings on radiographs. Delayed diagnosis, however, results in complications such as iliopsoas abscess.

[Osteogenesis imperfecta and hearing loss in childhood].

We report a case of bilateral hearing loss in a child, caused by osteogenesis imperfecta and we evaluate CT scan findings. A 12-year-old child consulted for bilateral hearing loss. A computed tomography scan of the petrous temporal bone showed bilateral extensive unmineralized bone involving the cochleae, vestibules, and semicircular canals extending to the internal auditory canals.
