[Pathogenesis of enteral insufficiency in patients with postoperative peritonitis].

Enteral insufficiency is considered to trigger the syndrome of endogenous intoxication and, further, multiple organ failure. Enteral insufficiency often accompanies postoperative septic complications, such as peritonitis. Morphologic changes of the intestinal wall by septic peritonitis consisted of edema, fibrinous degradation of muscular layer and dystrophy of local nervous pathways.

[The role of terminal DNA groups in the activation of (ADP-ribose)polymerase].

Some peculiarities of activation of (ADP-ribose) polymerase by DNA fragments were studied. DNA fragments were produced by the digestion of calf thymus DNA by micrococcal nuclease and with a subsequent enzymatic modification of their end groups by nuclease S1, polynucleotide kinase of phage T4 and alkaline phosphatase. The dependence of the activating effect of DNA on the chemical structure of its end groups was established.

[Activation of (ADP-ribose) polymerase by DNA fragmented by micrococcal nuclease and DNAase I].

Activation of (ADP-ribose) polymerase by DNA fragments obtained by digestion of calf thymus DNA with micrococcal nuclease and DNAase I was studied. It was found that activation of the enzyme is due to its interaction with the terminal parts of double-stranded DNA fragments, the level of activation being independent of the size of DNA fragments.

[Acro-osteolysis simulating mycetoma of the foot (pseudomycetoma)].

Idiopathic multicentric acro-osteolysis is a complex heterogenic disease that may simulate mycetoma. A ten-year-old child has developed the condition, diagnosed as mycetoma for 7 years. Medical genetic examination of the patient helped correctly diagnose the disease.

[Iridoscopy in the diagnosis of internal pathology in dermatoses].

Iridoscopy was carried out in 40 patients with rosacea and seborrheic dermatitis in order to detect visceral abnormalities. Various gastrointestinal diseases were revealed in 32, vascular and neuropsychic disorders in 16, and renal or pancreatic shifts in 5 patients.
