Introduction: This study aimed to determine whether massage pressure on the target muscles (biceps brachii muscle [BB] and the medial head of the gastrocnemius muscle [MG]) is related to the massage effect (reducing muscle stiffness).
Method: Nine healthy participants participated in this study. A physiotherapist massaged the upper arms and lower legs of participants on a rigid desk in a laboratory.

Background: Few studies have reported the clinical features of patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) who were treated with biologics for severe asthma (SA).
Objective: We sought to elucidate the clinical features and mutual interaction between COVID-19 and SA in terms of disease severity during the Omicron epidemic.
Methods: A retrospective study among patients with SA who received any biologic therapy from January 2022 to February 2023 at Jikei University Hospital (Tokyo, Japan) was performed.
Crystal growth methods that do not require high temperatures are highly needed for the facile growth of oxide single crystals with melting points of several thousand degrees Celsius. This paper represents the first report of a method for the low-temperature growth of ruby crystals (chromium-doped AlO) at 750 °C, which is one-third of the conventionally required temperature (2050 °C). In solution-based crystal growth, the target crystal is grown at a temperature considerably lower than its melting point.

The inhibition of HPSE1 has therapeutic potential for proteinuric diseases such as nephrotic syndrome because increased HPSE1 expression is associated with the loss of HS in the glomerular basement membrane, leading to the development of proteinuria. Brassinolide (BL) is a possible plant growth regulator in agriculture, but the presence of a steroid skeleton hampers the field application of BL in agriculture because of its high synthetic cost. To investigate the effects of salt stress on the auxin in rice plants, we analyzed indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and its metabolites in hydroponically grown rice plant seedlings (Oryza sativa cv. Nipponbare) and in the culture medium using LC-ESI/MS/MS. We found that the IAA level in the culture medium was increased 39-fold due to salt stress treatment, while those in the shoots and roots were increased by less than 2-fold.
