Simultaneous early adenocarcinoma and mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma of the stomach associated with Helicobacter pylori infection.

The simultaneous association of gastric carcinoma with gastric lymphoma is a rare event. Recent studies have suggested that not only gastric cancer but also primary gastric lymphomas, especially those of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) type, are associated with Helicobacter pylori infection. We report on a 51-year-old woman who was referred to our hospital for the evaluation of abnormal shadows revealed by an upper gastrointestinal radiography series.

Lewy bodies in Betz cells of the motor cortex in a patient with Parkinson's disease.

Lewy bodies (LBs) were observed in the giant pyramidal cells of Betz in the motor cortex of a patient with Parkinson's disease (PD) of 8-year duration. The patient had shown typical clinical features of PD. No dementia or pyramidal tract signs had been observed.
