On days 1 and 4 after fractionated irradiation of rats with dose of 0.75 Gy changes in thymocyte and lymphocyte plasma membrane structures were studied. Structural parameters of fluorescence probe auramin binding, viscosity of free lipids and lipids bound with integral proteins as well as structural changes of membrane protein structure were determined.

It is shown that administration of cyclophosphamide causes structural and functional damages of hemopoietic cells. It is suggested that the intensity of repair potentials is a leading factor in restoration of depressed hemopoiesis.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFunctional state of genetic apparatus was studied in leukocytes of patients with carcinoma of mammary gland at the III-IV stage by measuring incorporation of 3H-thymidine into DNA as well as by monitoring impairment of DNA structure using immunofluorescent procedure and antibodies to DNA. The studies were carried out before, in the middle period and at the end of the antitumour chemotherapy. The structure-functional state of genetic apparatus was injured in circulating leukocytes in blood of oncological patients.

A possibility was shown to detect by means of an immunochemical technique the irradiation-induced impairments of DNA in brain stem cells. Detection of the impairment was possible within 3 hrs after high doses of the irradiation (206.

When gamma-globulins, containing antibodies to one-stranded DNA, were administered the more intensive accumulation of the label was observed in nuclei of malignant tissue as compared with other tissues (liver, heart, thymus and muscles). The diffuse distribution of the label was found if nonimmune gamma-globulins were used.
