Sudden Stratospheric Warming (SSW) is a winter phenomenon initiated primarily by the enhanced stationary planetary waves (SPWs), characterized by an increase in polar stratospheric temperature by a few tens of kelvin for a few days. Wave-wave non-linear interaction can produce secondary waves, with sum and difference frequencies of the primary wave frequencies. The sun-synchronous semidiurnal tide is a major component at mid and high latitude middle atmosphere, which non-linearly interacts with the dominant SPW in the stratosphere to produce the zonally symmetric semidiurnal tide component (S0), as observed during two boreal SSWs.

Methods: We conducted an online, bilingual survey of adults in Canada in fall 2022.
Background: In December 2019 the World Health Organization announced that the widespread severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection had become a global pandemic. The most affected organ by the novel virus is the lung, and imaging exploration of the thorax using computer tomography (CT) scanning and X-ray has had an important impact.
Materials And Methods: We assessed the prevalence of lung lesions in vaccinated versus unvaccinated SARS-CoV-2 patients using an artificial intelligence (AI) platform provided by Medicai.
Background: Comprehensiveness of primary care has been declining, and much of the blame has been placed on early-career family physicians and their practice choices. To better understand early-career family physicians' practice choices in Canada, we sought to identify the factors that most influence their decisions about how to practice.
Methods: We conducted a qualitative study using framework analysis.

Methods: We used linked administrative data in British Columbia to describe changes in patient ages and comorbidities, hospitalizations and receipt of services that may require FP coordination, review and/or follow-up: prescriptions dispensed, laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging (radiology and ultrasound), specialist visits and emergency department visits.
Plate tectonics is a fundamental factor in the sustained habitability of Earth, but its time of onset is unknown, with ages ranging from the Hadaean to Proterozoic eons. View Article and Find Full Text PDFWe report on the first systematic transport study of alkynyl-ended oligophenyl-diethynyl (OPA) single-molecule junctions with direct Au-C anchoring scheme at low temperature using the mechanically controlled break junction technique. Through quantitative statistical analysis of opening traces, conductance histograms and density functional theory studies, we identified different types of junctions, classified by their conductance and stretching behavior, for OPA molecules between Au electrodes with two to four phenyl rings. We performed inelastic electron tunneling spectroscopy and observed the excitation of Au-C vibrational modes confirming the existence of Au-C bonds at low temperature and compared the stability of molecule junctions upon mechanical stretching.

Thus, wild-type can tolerate applied exogenous spermidine stress, but Δ strain of fails to do that. Here, using different reactive oxygen species (ROS) probes and performing electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy, we provide evidence that although spermidine mitigates oxidative stress by lowering overall ROS levels, excess of it simultaneously triggers the production of superoxide radicals, thereby causing toxicity in the Δ strain.
