We report the case of a 41-year-old man who presented with gross hematuria and a bladder tumor on ultrasonography. Magnetic resonance imaging indicated a possible muscle-invasive bladder cancer or urachal carcinoma. Following transurethral resection of the bladder tumor, histopathological findings revealed an adenocarcinoma similar to colorectal cancer.

[Cost-Effectiveness Analysis and Budget Impact Analysis of Enzalutamide for the Treatment of Metastatic Hormone-Sensitive Prostate Cancer].

We conducted cost-effectiveness analysis and budget impact analysis for androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) plus enzalutamide (ENZ) on patients with metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC) from the publicly-funded healthcare system perspective. Using a partitioned survival model, lifetime costs, quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) and incremental cost-effectiveness ratios (ICERs) of ADT＋ENZ were estimated against ADT alone, ADT plus abiraterone (ADT＋ABI), and ADT plus apalutamide (ADT＋APA). Total healthcare cost differences with and without ENZ in mHSPC therapy were estimated for the period from 2022 to 2026.

A real-world, retrospective, observational study examining treatment patterns and clinical outcomes in patients with FLT3m + AML in Japan.

Objective: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is the most common form of leukemia among adults in Japan. This study aimed to understand the treatment patterns, health care resource utilization, and costs of FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 mutation-positive (FLT3m+) AML patients in Japan.

Methods: A retrospective cohort study of Japanese FLT3m + AML patients was conducted using data extracted from a national hospital-based claims database provided by Medical Data Vision Co.

Methods: Among patients in the Japan Study Group of Prostate Cancer registry, those who initiated primary androgen deprivation therapy and were aged 20 years or older were enrolled in this study. The primary endpoint was time to disease progression, defined as time from primary androgen deprivation therapy initiation to either prostate-specific antigen or clinical progression.

The triplet state of chlorophyll formed by charge recombination in photosystem II (PSII) is a precursor of harmful singlet oxygen. Although main localization of the triplet state on the monomeric chlorophyll, Chl, at cryogenic temperatures has been suggested, how the triplet state is delocalized on other chlorophylls remains unclear. Here, we investigated the distribution of the triplet state of chlorophyll in PSII using light-induced Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) difference spectroscopy.

Interim results from a postmarketing surveillance study of patients with FLT3-mutated relapsed/refractory AML treated with the FLT3 inhibitor gilteritinib in Japan.

Objective: Gilteritinib received approval for the treatment of FLT3-mutated relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia in Japan in 2018. In accordance with regulatory requirements, we conducted a multicenter, observational surveillance of gilteritinib use in Japan.

Methods: Patients were followed for 6 months from gilteritinib treatment initiation.

A Case of Retroperitoneal Ganglioneuroma Accidentally Discovered by Laparoscopic Right Adrenalectomy.

A 65-year-old man was referred to our hospital for his right adrenal adenoma. Adrenal vein blood sampling revealed primary hyperaldosteronism, and he was referred to our department for surgical resection of his right adenoma. During the operation, a small nodule was discovered in addition to the adrenal tumor.

Hypophosphatasia: Evaluation of Size and Mineral Density of Exfoliated Teeth.

Objective: Most cases of hypophosphatasia (HPP) exhibit early loss of primary teeth. Results of micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) analysis of teeth with HPP have not yet been reported. The purpose of the present study was to describe the size and mineral density distribution and mapping of exfoliated teeth with HPP using micro CT.

Self-Esteem and Oral Condition of Institutionalized Abused Children in Japan.

Objective: Abused children have been reported to have low self-esteem. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of dental intervention on self-esteem, oral condition, and concern for oral health in abused children admitted to a child protection service facility.

Study Design: We examined the oral condition of 65 children (34 boys, 31 girls; aged 2-15 years), instructed them in tooth-brushing.

Severe impaction of the primary mandibular second molar accompanied by displacement of the permanent second premolar.

Tooth impaction is defined as any tooth that fails to erupt into a normal functional position and remains unerupted beyond the time at which it should normally erupt. Reports of impaction and eruption failure in primary teeth are relatively rare compared to permanent teeth. We report 2 rare cases where the second premolar was located on the occlusal side of the impacted mandibular second primary molar.

Clinical and radiographic findings and usefulness of computed tomographic assessment in two children with regional odontodysplasia.

Regional odontodysplasia is a rare, severe, and nonhereditary developmental disorder in tooth formation and involves epithelial and mesenchymal-derived dental tissue. On radiographs, affected teeth have an abnormal morphology, a hypoplastic crown, and only a faint outline of hard tissue, a condition termed "ghost teeth." We report clinical and radiographic findings from two children with regional odontodysplasia.

Many cases demonstrating the oral manifestations of Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) have been reported; however, tooth development in jaw lesions has rarely been mentioned. This paper reports the case of a 3-year-old Japanese girl with LCH suffering from multiple osteolytic lesions of the skull and jaw bones. She was referred to our paediatric clinic because of swelling of the mucogingival folds in the upper and lower primary molar regions.

Cerebral infarction and fluid collection due to an enlarged dissecting aneurysm of the middle cerebral artery--case report.

A 53-year-old man presented with cerebral infarction associated with a dissecting aneurysm of the left middle cerebral artery (MCA), with enlargement and fluid collection. Anticoagulant therapy was performed as the first stage treatment for cerebral infarction. Serial magnetic resonance imaging showed that the dissecting aneurysm had enlarged and fluid collection adjacent to the aneurysm had developed since the first admission.

Occlusal guidance for eruption disturbance of mandibular second premolar: a report of three cases.

This study presents the treatment courses in three impacted cases of mandibular second premolars caused by distal inclination of the tooth germs. In all cases, the second premolars were surgically exposed, but the traction periods until oral emergence differed. The reasons for the differences may be the variation in the severity of the distal inclinations of the tooth germs and the calcified development of the affected germs at fenestration.

Tracheal agenesis: a case report.

[Combination chemotherapy of doxifluridine plus mitomycin C for colorectal lung metastasis--phase II study].

Purpose: We conducted a multi-center study to investigate the usefulness of a combination drug therapy with doxifluridine (5'-DFUR) and mitomycin C (MMC) in colorectal cancer patients with lung metastasis.

Patient And Methods: Subjects were advanced/recurrent colorectal cancer patients with lung metastasis, who underwent concomitant drug administration with 533 mg/m2/day of 5'-DFUR orally and 4 mg/m2/day of MMC every 2 weeks intravenously.

Results: Of 84 patients registered, 54 patients who were evaluable for tumor response showed results such as: complete response, one; partial response, 4; no change, 30; and progressive disease, 19, corresponding to a response rate of 9.

A review of clinical features in 13 cases of impacted primary teeth.

Aim: The aim of this study was to review clinical findings in 14 impacted primary teeth in 13 cases treated at a Paediatric Dental Clinic over a period of 18 years.

Method: The retrospective study used clinical records, radiographs and oral photographs. Data included age, gender, presenting complaints, location, radiographic findings, aetiological factors, treatment and prognosis of impacted primary teeth and their permanent successors.

Prognosis of replanted primary incisors after injuries.

Between 1979 and 1997, 58 avulsed primary teeth were treated at the Pedodontic Clinic of Niigata University Dental Hospital. Among these, we replanted six avulsed incisors of four patients and treated two teeth of two patients replanted at other dental clinics. Referring to the clinical records, oral photographs and radiographs, we examined the injury age, cause of injury, condition of tooth storage, length of time until replantation, and also the prognosis after replantation.
