A high-noble Au-Pt-Ge porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) dental alloy without the known adverse metallic elements and with the addition of germanium (Ge) was produced as a more cost-effective alternative to other precious alloying metals, with investigations for determining the functionality and clinical use of this alloy. The thermomechanical, biocompatibility, durability, workability and economic characteristics of the produced dental alloy were investigated. These properties were investigated with in vitro biocompatibility testing on human gingival fibroblasts (HGFs); static immersion testing for metal ion release; DSC analysis; hardness, tensile testing, density and coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) measurements; metallographic and SEM/EDX microstructure investigations; and finally with the production of a test PFM dental bridge.

In this review, we critically examined whether the enrichment of nHAp/polymer scaffolds with growth factors, hormones, polypeptides, microRNAs and exosomes improved new bone formation in vivo.
Materials And Methods: Out of 2989 articles obtained from the literature search, 106 papers were read in full, and only 12 articles met the inclusion criteria for this review.
Aim: To investigate the factors affecting metformin concentrations after chronic administration in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), focusing on the pharmacokinetic variability and its implications for personalized therapy.
Methods: This study enrolled 53 PCOS patients undergoing long-term metformin treatment at the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics in Niš, Serbia, from February to December 2019. Pharmacokinetic parameters were measured from blood samples, and metformin concentrations were determined with validated analytical techniques.
Undiagnosed and untreated oral precancerous lesions often progress into malignancies. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) might be a minimally invasive alternative to conventional treatments. 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) is one of the most commonly used photosensitizers in PDT, and it is effective on many cancer types.

Objective: Pain is an essential element of humane childbirth. Neuraxial analgesia is the most effective method for relieving pain during childbirth. More and more women are using this type of analgesia in childbirth.

Micro RNAs, notably miRNA-21, appear to play an important role in OSCC carcinogenesis. Our objectives were to explore the multipotency of oral CSCs by estimating their differentiation capacity and assessing the effects of differentiation on stemness, apoptosis, and several miRNAs' expression.

The immunity is achieved by capturing small DNA fragments or spacers from foreign nucleic acids (protospacers) and integrating them into the host CRISPR locus. This step of CRISPR-Cas immunity called 'naïve CRISPR adaptation' requires the conserved Cas1-Cas2 complex and is often supported by variable host proteins that assist in spacer processing and integration.

The aim of this paper was to assess the status and trends in PA surveillance, policy, and research in 164 countries.
Methods: We used data from the Global Observatory for Physical Activity (GoPA!) 2015 and 2020 surveys.
Objective: The study aimed to investigate acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) effects on osteo/odontogenic differentiation and proliferation of dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) in vitro and the potential involvement of adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) pathway in these processes.
Design: DPSCs were isolated from third molars pulp tissues of five patients and grown in osteogenic medium alone or supplemented with ASA. Expression of DPSCs markers was tested by flow-cytometry.
Objectives: To establish whether there is a statistically significant difference in hematological and biochemical parameters between the patients with premalignant changes of the uterine mucosa and those with malignant changes. The aim is to establish whether hematological and biochemical parameters may be useful in predicting the stages of endometrial malignancy and in differentiating premalignant and malignant endometrial changes.
Material And Methods: A retrospective study included 100 patients (70 with endometrial carcinoma diagnosis and 30 with atypical hyperplasia).

Background: The study of reproductive characteristics of 430 male subjects of different age, fertility status and educational level who were involved in the program of extracorporeal fertilization at the Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Clinical Centre Niš, examined their knowledge, attitudes and behavior regarding tobacco and alcohol consumption as lifestyle risk predictors of their partial or full infertility.
Methodology: Consisted of the analyses of spermiograms to establish their fertility status and a survey of their attitudes towards smoking and alcohol use (behavior, knowledge of the general health and reproductive health consequences of such a lifestyle, and their determination to change it).
Results: The proportion with higher tobacco consumption and more severe forms of infertility increased significantly with ageing (P < 0.

The increased antibiotic resistance of pathogenic bacteria requires intense research of new wound healing agents. Novel wound dressings should be designed to provide wound disinfection, good moisture, and fast epithelization. In this study, bacterial cellulose (BC) was impregnated with graphene quantum dots (GQDs) for potential use in wound healing treatment.

Material And Methods: A retrospective-prospective study included 101 pregnant women with prenatally diagnosed fetal urinary tract anomalies presented to the Council for Fetal Anomalies.
Cas3 is a ssDNA-targeting nuclease-helicase essential for class 1 prokaryotic CRISPR immunity systems, which has been utilized for genome editing in human cells. Cas3-DNA crystal structures show that ssDNA follows a pathway from helicase domains into a HD-nuclease active site, requiring protein conformational flexibility during DNA translocation. In genetic studies, we had noted that the efficacy of Cas3 in CRISPR immunity was drastically reduced when temperature was increased from 30 °C to 37 °C, caused by an unknown mechanism.

Methods: A total of 225 subjects were enrolled in the study. There were 105 females in UI group and 120 healthy controls.
Functional CRISPR-Cas systems provide many bacteria and most archaea with adaptive immunity against invading DNA elements. CRISPR arrays store DNA fragments of previous infections while products of cas genes provide immunity by integrating new DNA fragments and using this information to recognize and destroy invading DNA. Escherichia coli contains the CRISPR-Cas type I-E system in which foreign DNA targets are recognized by Cascade, a crRNA-guided complex comprising five proteins (CasA, CasB, CasC, CasD, CasE), and degraded by Cas3.

Immu- nological and coagulation abnormalities were shown to have a substantial part in multifactorial etiology of IVF failure. Acute CCl intoxication resulted in a massive hepatic necrosis, in increased serum transaminases, and in a perturbation of oxidative stress parameters in liver tissue [malondyaldehide, glutathione (GSH), catalase]. CCl did not affect the expression of caspase-3 and cytochrome c as markers of apoptosis; however, CCl increased the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) activity and the expression of autophagy-related protein LC3II and decreased the expression of p62 protein.

The structure of novel complex, as well as structures of its quinoline and pyridine analogues, was optimized by density functional theory calculations, and theoretical data show good agreement with experimental results. A cytotoxic action of the complexes was evaluated on cultures of human promyelocytic leukemia (HL-60), human glioma (U251), rat glioma (C6), and mouse fibrosarcoma (L929) cell lines.
