Background: The lack of noninvasive biomarkers for graft rejection remains a challenge for the accurate monitoring of vascularized composite allotransplants. Viral vector-mediated gene transfer is a promising method for preventing graft rejection. In this study, we aimed to establish the expression profile of microRNAs (miRNAs) in skin flap allotransplantation, with or without gene transfer, and determine the potential role of several miRNAs as biomarkers of acute rejection and immune tolerance.

Histochemical Identification of Motor Fascicles Using Cholinesterase Staining in Rats Using a Mixed Nerve Model.

Background: Inappropriate matching of motor and sensory fibers after nerve repair or grafting can lead to nerve recovery failure. Identifying the motor and sensory fascicles enables surgeons to match them accurately and correctly align nerve stumps, which is crucial for neural regeneration. Very few methods have been reported to differentiate between the sensory and motor nerve fascicles, and the replicability of these techniques remains unestablished.

Cancer-Oriented Comprehensive Nursing Services in Republic of Korea: Lessons from an Oncologist's Perspective.

As is well known, cancer patients require extensive medical attention as they undergo surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and supportive care. The importance of high-quality cancer-directed nursing, combined with precision medicine, to maximize their survival outcomes and help them achieve a better quality of life cannot be overemphasized. In this context, we offered a new cancer-oriented comprehensive nursing system to our inpatients and reviewed its clinical outcomes in comparison with those from the preexisting general cancer ward.

Adipogenic effects of prenatal exposure to bisphenol S (BPS) in adult F1 male mice.

Bisphenol S (BPS) has been increasingly used as a substitute for bisphenol A (BPA), a known endocrine disruptor. Early-life exposure to BPA affects fetal development and the risk of obesity in adolescence and adulthood. However, the effects of fetal exposure BPS in later life are unknown.
