We present the strategic design of donor-acceptor cyanoarene-based photocatalysts (PCs) aiming to augment beneficial PC degradation for halogen atom transfer (XAT)-induced dehalogenation reactions. Our investigation reveals a competitive nature between the catalytic cycle and the degradation pathway, with the degradation becoming dominant, particularly for less activated alkyl halides. The degradation behavior of PCs significantly impacts the efficiency of the XAT process, leading to exploration into manipulating the degradation behavior in a desirable direction.

The effect of thermal cycling on the transformation behavior of a Ti-24Nb-1Mo alloy was investigated by means of electrical resistivity measurement, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), tensile test and Vickers hardness tests. Electrical resistivity changes were not observed in all alloys. It indicates that thermally induced martensitic transformation does not take place in the alloys.

Cinchonine (C(19)H(22)N(2)O) is a natural compound of Cinchona bark. Although cinchonine's antiplatelet effect has been reported in the previous study, antiobesity effect of cinchonine has never been studied. The main objective of this study was to investigate whether cinchonine reduces high-fat-diet- (HFD-) induced adipogenesis and inflammation in the epididymal fat tissues of mice and to explore the underlying mechanisms involved in these reductions.
