Lantana camara plant extract catalyzed biosynthesis of graphene-metal nanocomposites with potential cytotoxic activities.

This study investigates the synthesis and characterization of Plant-Ag-graphene nanocomposites through a combination of spectroscopic and microscopic techniques, the nanocomposites were formed by catalyzing silver nanoparticles with plant extracts, and the resulting structures were analyzed using advanced instrumentation. In the FTIR analysis, distinctive peaks were observed at 3340 cm⁻1 (O-H stretching), 1740 cm⁻1 (C = O stretching), and 1050 cm⁻1. When compared to silver nanoparticles, the nanocomposites exhibited altered peak intensities, indicating modifications in chemical bonding.

Performance evaluation of Rayto RT-7600Vet hematology analyzer in side-by-side comparison with manual hematological methods for apparently healthy Cholistani cattle blood.

The present study is the first from Pakistan being reported with an objective to assess performance of Rayto RT-7600Vet hematology analyzer (HA) for Cholistani cattle blood (n = 134), in comparison to the manual hematological methods. The four hematological attributes viz. total erythrocyte count (TEC), hemoglobin (Hb), packed cell volume (PCV) and platelet count (PLT) were deduced through HA (A) and manual (M) methods.

Avian pathogenic (APEC) infections in poultry adversely affect health and production, with public health implications. This study assessed the potential of bioluminescence imaging for real-time, noninvasive tracking of microbial progression in 12-day-old chicken embryos inoculated with an APEC strain or its derivatives integrated either with ABCDE or operon. Eggs were imaged daily for bioluminescence detection, with dead embryos sampled immediately and survivors killed at 5 days post inoculation (dpi).

Methods: A retrospective study was conducted at the Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital and Research Center on adult patients who were admitted with a positive COVID polymerase chain reaction from July 2020 to March 2022.

White adipose tissue (WAT) generally has negligible glucose utilization and thus, shows no or insignificant Fluorine-18 fluoro D-glucose (FDG) uptake. However, corticosteroids can cause altered biodistribution of FDG with increased uptake in WAT. We hereby describe a case of immune complex-mediated glomerulonephritis showing diffusely increased FDG uptake in WAT secondary to high-dose corticosteroid therapy.
