Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigates how bath-related factors like water temperature, room temperature, and position changes affect the stress levels in neonates during their first tub bath, aiming to promote better neonatal care practices.
  • - Conducted with 17 healthy, full-term neonates, results show a significant drop in regional oxygen saturation (rSO) when entering and exiting the bath, suggesting that these moments may be stressful for babies.
  • - The findings indicate that high water temperatures can add to this stress, highlighting the importance of aligning water and room temperatures to minimize discomfort during neonatal bathing.
