In recent decades, immunotherapy with chimeric antigen receptors (CAR) has revolutionized cancer treatment and given hope where other cancer therapies have failed. CAR-NK cells are NK cells that have been engineered ex vivo with a CAR on the cell membrane with high specificity for specific target antigens of tumor cells. The impressive results of several studies suggest that CAR-NK cell therapy has significant potential and successful performance in cancer treatment.

Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B virus (HBV), and hepatitis C virus (HCV) are known as the most common blood-borne viral infections worldwide. Individuals referring to drop-in centers (DICs) are considered high-risk people exposed to infection with blood-borne viruses. The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence of HIV, HBV, and HCV infections among women referred to DICs in Lorestan Province, western Iran.

Design and psychometrics of a tool for measuring social cognitive factors related to the preventive behaviors toward Covid-19 in the society.

With the emergence of new strains of Covid-19, the adoption of preventive behaviors is still considered a requirement to control this disease. Therefore, considering the importance of social cognitive factors in adopting various types of preventive behaviors, the present study was conducted to design and psychometrically measure the social cognitive factors related to Covid-19 preventive behaviors. A cross-sectional study was conducted on 526 people ages 18 and over with multi-stage stratified, cluster and random sampling in Isfahan, Iran in 2022.

Injection drug use is the primary driver of the human immunodeficiency virus HIV epidemic in Iran. We characterized people who inject drugs (PWID) living in Iran who had never received opioid agonist therapy (OAT) and examined barriers to OAT uptake. We recruited 2,684 PWID with a history of drug injection in the previous 12 months using a respondent-driven sampling approach from 11 geographically dispersed cities in Iran.

Green Synthesis of Au-Doped Tin Oxide Nanoparticles Using Extract with Potential Applications in Photodynamic Therapy.

The green synthesis of Tin(IV) oxide (SnO): Gold (Au) nanoparticles (NPs) using medicinal plant extract was investigated, and the NPs were characterized and tested as photosensitizers to produce reactive oxygen species (ROS). The cytotoxic effect on C26 cells was investigated using the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) technique. The results showed their toxicity in a dose-dependent manner.
