Background: For oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), extent of extranodal extension (ENE) (minor, ≤2 mm; major, >2 mm) is differentially prognostic, whereas limitations exist with the 8th edition of American Joint Committee on Cancer/International Union Against Cancer TNM N-classification (TNM-8-N).
Methods: Resected OSCC patients at four centers were included and extent of ENE was recorded. Thresholds for optimal overall survival (OS) discrimination of lymph node (LN) features were established.

Background: Opioid abuse is widespread in North America and the over-prescription of opioids are a contributing factor. The goal of this prospective study was to quantify over-prescription rates, evaluate postoperative experiences of pain, and understand the impact of peri-operative factors such as adequate pain counseling and use of non-opioid analgesia.
Methods: Consecutive recruitment of patients undergoing head and neck endocrine surgery was undertaken from January 1st 2020 to December 31st 2021 at four Canadian hospitals in Ontario and Nova Scotia.
Importance: Ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration biopsies (UGFNA) play a crucial role in the diagnosis of thyroid nodules. There are two techniques for performing an UGFNA: short-axis technique and long-axis technique. There is sparsity in the literature regarding the differences between these two techniques.

Methods: Four tumor models were created. Five head and neck surgeons participated in the study performing virtual osteotomies.
Background: Out-of-pocket costs (OOPC) associated with treatment have significant implications on quality of life and survival in cancer patients. Head and neck cancer patients face unique treatment-related challenges, but to date OOPC have been understudied in this population.
Aims: This study aims to identify and measure OOPC for patients with head and neck cancer (HNC) in Ontario.
