Metric evaluation of partially displaced temporomandibular joint disc.

The objective was to determine the quantitative relationship between the condyle and disc position in the glenoid fossa between two different slices of the same temporomandibular joints (TMJs) with partial anterior disc displacement (DD). The study was conducted on 40 patients with DD of TMJs (mean age, 35.5 years).

A quantitative analysis of splint therapy of displaced temporomandibular joint disc.

Objectives: The effects of the Michigan splint on the change in disc displacement (DD) as well as the position of the condyles were determined by metrical analysis using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Methods: Twenty-five patients with clinical DD symptoms were treated by means of the Michigan splint, and an assessment of the effects of the splint was conducted or verified by MRI before and during the period of therapy, 5 months follow-up. The positions of the condyles and the disc were calculated from the MRI in the parasagittal plane.

The influence of age on tooth root colour changes.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between tooth root colour and age, and its possible application in age assessment. In this research altogether 100 tooth roots have been analysed. All teeth, that is their roots, were digitally recorded and the colorimetric treatment was made using Adobe Photoshop 7.
