Background: To assess the psychosocial impact of moderate-severe juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) on patients and their families, among those who had been treated with at least one anti-tumor necrosis factor (anti-TNF-α), according to routine clinical practice in Spain.
Patients And Methods: A 24-month observational, multicentric, cross-sectional and retrospective study was performed. Children diagnosed with JIA were enrolled at three tertiary-care Spanish hospitals.
Objectives: To describe the methodology, objectives, and initial data of the registry of young adult patients diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA), JUVENSER. The main objective of the project is to know the sociodemographic and clinical characteristics, and disease activity of patients with JIA reaching the transition to adulthood.
Material And Method: Longitudinal, prospective, multicentre study, including patients between 16 and 25 years old, with a diagnosis of JIA in any of its categories.
Musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSUS) is a powerful tool of major importance in rheumatology. MSUS is ideally suited for the evaluation of pediatric patients because it is a safe technique with a high patient acceptability, it does not require sedation, and it is excellent for exploring multiple joints. It is also the most operator-dependent imaging modality, and assessing joints in patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is particularly challenging due to the unique features of the growing skeleton.

Background: Childhood Polyarteritis nodosa (PAN) is a systemic vasculitis with necrotizing inflammation of medium- and small-sized arteries. Disease evolution may be severe and refractory to standard treatment including prednisone, azathioprine and cyclophosphamide.
Case Presentation: We present the case of a young girl with severe PAN resulting in progressive ischemia and necrosis of fingers and toes.
An excessive immune response known as cytokine storm is the hallmark of severe COVID-19. The cause of this cytokine rampage is yet not known. Based on recent epidemiological evidence, we hypothesized that CD80/86 signaling is essential for this hyperinflammation, and that blocking this proinflammatory axis could be an effective therapeutic approach to protect against severe COVID-19.

Methods: A cross-sectional study comprising of a telephone survey and electronic health records review was performed including all adult and paediatric patients with rheumatic diseases treated with tDMARDs in a large rheumatology tertiary centre in Barcelona, Spain. Demographics, disease activity, COVID-19 related symptoms and contact history data were obtained from the start of the 2020 pandemic.
Background: Osteoporosis incidence in children is increasing due to the increased survival rate of patients suffering from chronic diseases and the increased use of drugs that can damage bones. Recent changes made to the definition of childhood osteoporosis, along with the lack of guidelines or national consensuses regarding its diagnosis and treatment, have resulted in a wide variability in the approaches used to treat this disease. For these reasons, the Osteogenesis Imperfecta and Childhood Osteoporosis Working Group of the Spanish Society of Pediatric Rheumatology has sounded the need for developing guidelines to standardize clinical practice with regard to this pathology.
