The herbicide glyphosate is widely used in agricultural practices around the world, can reach aquatic environments, and potentially impact non-target organisms. This study aimed to investigate the effects of glyphosate exposure (both as the active ingredient and its formulated product) on sperm quality, fertilization success, and development of pejerrey (Odontesthes bonariensis), a native freshwater fish species from Argentina. Results revealed a statistically significant increase in sperm motility at the highest concentration of the formulated product.

Materials And Methods: Forty-eight lithium disilicate CAD/CAM ceramic blocks were fabricated, sintered, and embedded in acrylic resin. After contamination with human saliva, they were divided according to the factors "Cleaning method" (Control-water/air spray, Air-particle abrasion with AlO, Ivoclean cleaning paste), "Surface treatment" (5% Hydrofluoric acid-HF + Silane, Monobond Etch & Prime-MEP), and "Aging" (thermocycling, no thermocycling).

Introduction: Our primary clinical trial indicated that anodal stimulation of the right posterior parietal region associated with specific and perceptual task training was superior to placebo in reducing stroke-induced hemispatial neglect (HN) immediately after the treatment protocol. However, our primary study did not investigate whether this benefit was maintained in the long term after stroke. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the long-term effects of the protocol applied in the ELETRON trial on outcomes associated with HN, functionality, and mortality.

Zoonotic visceral leishmaniasis is caused by () and dogs are the main domestic reservoir. This study compared the performance of parasitological tests using semi-automatic needle puncture (SANP) for collecting popliteal lymph node samples with samples collected from the same lymph node by fine needle aspiration puncture (FNAP) and by necropsy for the diagnosis of canine visceral leishmaniasis (CVL). Popliteal lymph node samples were collected from 30 CVL-seropositive dogs from an endemic region in Brazil.

Patients with advanced forms of periodontitis ( = 220; mean age: 54.03 ± 03 years) at stage III/IV were sampled.

Importantly, PTSD disproportionately affects women, emphasizing the critical need to explore how sex differences influence the genetic and metabolic neurobiological pathways underlying trauma-related behaviors. This study uses the limited bedding and nesting (LBN) paradigm to model ELS and investigate its sex-specific effects on fear memory formation.

Introduction: Ultratranslucent zirconia combines high mechanical strength and esthetics, making it ideal for monolithic restorations. This case report describes a total rehabilitation of the upper dental arch with single-unit crowns made of multilayer ultratranslucent zirconia (Prettau 4 Anterior, Zirkonzahn), as well as the use of a simplified adhesive cementation protocol for this type of ceramic.
Materials And Methods: A 64-year-old female patient sought rehabilitative treatment, after planning in a semi-adjustable articulator, interim prostheses, from tooth 2 to 15, were installed to restore occlusal vertical dimension and esthetics.
The diagnosis of canine visceral leishmaniasis (CVL) presents a challenge due to a variety of non-specific clinical signs. The available tests have low sensitivity. This study aimed to standardize and evaluate the loop-mediated isothermal amplification technique with K26 target (K26-LAMP) for diagnosis of CVL in conjunctival swab (CS) DNA samples extracted through a silica column commercial kit (SW-kit) and boiling (SW-DB) and to compare sensitivity with conventional PCR (kDNA-cPCR) and quantitative real-time PCR (18S-qPCR).

Among these, levoglucosenone (LGO) and Cyrene™ have emerged as promising candidates. LGO, derived from the pyrolysis of cellulose and hemicellulose, exhibits structural versatility, making it an attractive starting material for various valuable products.

The transmission of sporotrichosis is classically from an environmental source following penetrating injury. The alternative zoonotic route has gained attention due to the rapid and significant spread of cat-transmitted sporotrichosis in South America and Malaysia, resulting in several thousand human and feline cases in recent decades, especially in Brazil.

An open-label, prospective, multicenter cohort study was conducted with volunteers who received two doses of the Sputnik V, Sinopharm, or AZD1222 vaccines. Plasma samples were analyzed at 0 and 21 days after the first dose, 21 days after the second dose, and 120 and 180 days after the first dose.

Methods: This is a retrospective, observational study. Data were collected from medical records of decannulated patients followed up in a pediatric hospital in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais between 2011 and 2021.
The article approaches the subject of recovery, a sociopolitical movement, field of studies and practices that aims, from the experience of people living with mental disorders, to promote a more optimistic outlook of the prognosis. Aiming to understand the recovery process of people who experience severe mental disorders, qualitative research was developed, based on Gadamerian hermeneutics. We conducted in-depth interviews, in the form of life narratives, with five people who recognize themselves in the process of recovery, and are part of a mental health patient group.

Introduction: We compared fixed and articulated ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs) in home-based mobility tasks to assess short-term mobility, dynamic balance, quality of life, anxiety/depression, disability level, stroke severity, autonomy, human functioning, and patient satisfaction.
Methods: This was a two-arm, parallel-group, randomized controlled trial with concealed allocation, assessor blinding, and a complete case analysis involving patients with chronic stroke. The participants were randomized into two groups: fixed ( = 24) and articulated ( = 23) AFOs.
Psychedelic drugs that activate the 5HT2A receptor have long been the target of extensive clinical research, particularly in models of psychiatric illness. The aim of this literature review was to investigate the therapeutic effects of 5HT2A receptor activation in the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) and the respective mechanisms that underlie them. Based on the available research, I suggest that 5HT2A receptors in the ACC exert profound changes in excitatory neurotransmission and brain network connectivity in a way that reduces anxious preoccupation and obsessional thoughts, as well as promoting cognitive flexibility and long-lasting mood improvements in anhedonia.

Recently, hypoxic areas have been identified in water bodies of the Pampas region due to human activity. The objective of this work was to study the effect of low concentrations of dissolved oxygen (hypoxia) on the reproductive endocrine axis of a pampas fish (Odontesthes bonariensis). Groups of 8 males and 8 females were subjected to severe hypoxia (2-3 mg l) and normoxia (7-9 mg l) in 3000 l tanks by duplicate during the reproductive season (spring).
