Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relation between tendon integrity and functional results following the arthroscopic treatment of small- and medium-sized rotator cuff tears.
Methods: Arthroscopic repair was performed on 26 consecutive patients (21 women, 5 men;mean age: 55.9 years; range: 33-72 years) with small- and medium-sized tears of the supraspinatus tendon.
Purpose: To investigate the role of Doppler sonography (DUS) examination of major abdominal arteries in predicting severity of acute pancreatitis (AP).
Methods: Twenty-nine patients diagnosed with AP and 14 controls were blindly and prospectively evaluated with Doppler sonography. Disease severity was defined clinically according to acute physiology and chronic health evaluation (APACHE II) score and was classified as severe for APACHE II score > or =8.
Hepatic abscess caused by brucellosis is extremely rare in children. We report the case of a 5-year-old girl in whom an abscess of the liver developed during an episode of acute brucellosis. To our knowledge, this is the second reported case of hepatic abscess caused by brucellosis in a child.

Subjects And Methods: This prospective study was performed over 4 years (December 2000-December 2004). The subjects were 251 Turkish patients (age range, 2-77 years) who were diagnosed with brucellosis during that period.
Objective: The aim of this study was to report the clinical features, complications, abdominal sonographic findings, and treatment outcomes for a series of brucellosis cases in southern Turkey.
Subjects And Methods: This prospective study involved 251 patients (age range, 2-77 years) who were hospitalized with brucellosis during a 4-year period. Patients were classified as having acute (< 3 months), subacute (3-12 months), or chronic (> 12 months) disease.

Achondroplasia is the most common skeletal dysplasia in children. Achondroplasic patients have a short cranial face and midface hypoplasia. They often have sleep-related respiratory disturbances that lead to hypoxemia caused by midfacial hypoplasia, a small upper airway, hypotonia of airway muscles, or brain stem compression.

Materials And Methods: 41 men were enrolled in the study and they were subjected to either watchful waiting (group 1) or alpha(1)-adrenergic receptor blocker therapy (group 2 with alfuzosin; group 3 with tamsulosin). The patients were investigated by symptom evaluation using the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) and quality of life score (QOL), uroflowmetry and UEBW.
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the accuracy and outcome of sonographically guided intra-articular sodium hyaluronate injections in patients with osteoarthritis of the hip.
Methods: The prospective study involved 10 patients who had the diagnosis of unilateral hip osteoarthritis. The mean age of the patients was 63.
Introduction: To demonstrate the relationship between testicular microlithiasis and testicular tumor development.
Patients And Methods: Between January 1996 and March 2004, bilateral testicular microlithiasis was found in 40 of the 5,263 patients who underwent scrotal ultrasonography yielding a prevalence of 0.76%.
Hydatid cysts rarely involve the musculoskeletal system. We present the case of a 23-year-old man with a primary hydatid cyst between the femur and the quadriceps muscle in his left thigh. No cysts were located in the adjacent femur or quadriceps muscle.

Twenty-three male end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients (mean age, 51.4 +/- 12.

Scrotal ultrasonography of two patients who presented to our urology clinic due to left scrotal pain revealed multiple tubular structures in the testes with diameters of more than 2 mm. Duplex spectral analysis showed a reversed flow response to Valsalva's maneuver.
