Background: Reports of allergic contact dermatitis (ACD) to phytonadione epoxide (PE) in cosmetics suggest that PE is as powerful a sensitiser as its parent compound phytonadione.

Objective: To evaluate a case series of ACD to PE in Spain.

Methods: We reviewed the records of 20 patients with ACD to cosmetics containing PE diagnosed across Spain between January 2019 and June 2023.

A re-assessment of the value of markers of corticosteroid contact allergy in the Spanish baseline series: Clobetasol propionate in the spotlight.

Background: Budesonide and tixocortol pivalate as markers of contact allergy to corticosteroids have been questioned, as they are not able to detect a significant percentage of allergic patients.

Objectives: To investigate the potential role of clobetasol propionate in enhancing corticosteroid sensitisation detection.

2-Hydroxyethyl methacrylate (2-HEMA) sensitization, a global epidemic at its peak in Spain?

Background: A global epidemic of allergic contact dermatitis to (meth)acrylates has been described in relation to the widespread use of manicure products.

Objectives: To evaluate the frequency of sensitization to 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (2-HEMA) among consecutively patch tested patients with eczema in Spain; the percentage of current relevance; the MOAHLFA index; and, the potential sources of exposure to (meth)acrylates.

Allergic contact dermatitis from cetearyl alcohol in Thrombocid® ointment.

Thrombocid® ointment (Lacer, Barcelona, Spain) is widely used in Spain and other countries for varicose veins and 22 hematomas. To our knowledge, there are no reported cases of allergic contact dermatitis following its use. Herein we present 23 two cases of allergic contact dermatitis to Thrombocid® ointment, owing to cetearyl alcohol.

Mid-dermal elastolysis: report of a case and literature review.

Mid-dermal elastolysis (MDE) is an uncommon and probably underdiagnosed disorder of the elastic tissue. Clinical suspicion and histopathological confirmation are essential for the diagnosis. We report the case of a young woman who presented with this disorder after an inflammatory process during pregnancy and we review the main characteristics of this rare entity.

[Thoracic sympathectomy in primary hyperhidrosis: patient satisfaction].

Objective: To evaluate satisfaction among patients who underwent thoracic sympathectomy for primary hyperhidrosis and the possible complications after a minimum of 14 months after surgery.

Material And Methods: We performed a retrospective study in 108 patients who underwent thoracic sympathectomy and who responded to all the questions asked in a telephone interview. The sample was composed of 21 men and 87 women, with a mean age of 29.
