Objectives: Current literature on imaging characteristics of hepatic inflammatory pseudotumor (HIPT) is limited. This study aimed to analyze the contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) features in HIPT and compare them with contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) and contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (CEMRI).

Methods: A total of 83 patients with histologically proven HIPT from two medical institutions were included in this study.

To date, there have been no reports on tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS) in primary adenocarcinoma of jejunum and ileum. In this study, we employed digital pathology image analysis software to classify and quantify TLS, and evaluated the maturity of TLS using immunohistochemistry. Molecular genetics and immunotherapy biomarker detection were performed using next-generation sequencing technology, such as tumor mutational burden (TMB) and microsatellite instability (MSI).

Background: Gastric cancer (GC) remains a leading cause of cancer mortality globally. Synaptotagmin-4 (SYT4), a calcium-sensing synaptic vesicle protein, has been implicated in the oncogenesis of diverse malignancies.

Purpose: This study delineates the role of SYT4 in modulating clinical outcomes and biological behaviors in GC.

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a low-grade malignant soft-tissue tumor that originates from the skin. It has a slow onset in the early stages, non-specific clinical symptoms, low specificity, and can easily be overlooked, missed, or misdiagnosed by clinicians and pathologists. In addition, DFSP is prone to recurrence after local surgical treatment; however, distant metastasis, especially abdominal metastasis, is rare, which is also a challenge for the accurate diagnosis of DFSP when it progresses distantly.

Article Synopsis
  • - Hepatic reactive lymphoid hyperplasia (RLH) is a rare, benign condition that can mimic more serious liver diseases like cancer, posing challenges for diagnosis, particularly with imaging techniques and biopsies.
  • - In a case involving a 69-year-old woman, imaging suggested metastatic liver cancer, leading to surgery, but the final diagnosis revealed RLH after histopathological examination.
  • - The study emphasizes the importance of assessing specific imaging features, such as "wash-in and wash-out" patterns and diffusion on MRI, to better identify RLH in older women with isolated liver nodules and no cancer risk factors.

Article Synopsis
  • Malignant mesothelioma (MM) is a serious tumor that can develop in the pleura, peritoneum, or pericardial cavity, and is categorized into diffuse and localized forms, with diffuse MM further divided into four subtypes.
  • A case study reported successful treatment of peritoneal malignant mesothelioma through innovative therapy, including immunotherapy, which allowed for significant tumor shrinkage and a chance for surgical resection.
  • Following treatment, the patient remained disease-free for 33 months; however, they developed complications from immunotherapy, diagnosed as organizing pneumonia, underlining the treatment's mixed outcomes.

Aims: The distribution of residual esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) in the esophageal wall and resected lymph nodes was evaluated after neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy (nICT).

Methods And Results: Clinical data were collected from 137 ESCC patients who underwent anti-programmed death 1 therapy and esophagectomy. Ninety (65.

Glomus tumor is a relatively uncommon soft tissue neoplasm predominantly occurring in upper extremity (fingers), less reported in stomach. This study aimed to discuss the clinicopathologic features of gastric glomus tumor (GGT) and then provide reference for clinical practice. A retrospective analysis of all cases pathologically diagnosed of GGT was performed, pathological findings were correlated with clinical information, immunohistochemical studies, next-generation sequencing, and patient follow-ups.

Introduction: Recently, the number of diagnosed esophageal basaloid squamous cell carcinoma (EBSCC) has gradually increased. However, available data on EBSCC are limited to date.

Methods: A total of 165 EBSCC (Cohort 1) and 515 conventional esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) (Cohort 2) were retrospectively analyzed.

Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and adenocarcinoma (AC) are two main histological subtypes of solid cancer; however, SCCs are derived from different organs with similar morphologies, and it is challenging to distinguish the origin of metastatic SCCs. Here we report a deep proteomic analysis of 333 SCCs of 17 organs and 69 ACs of 7 organs. Proteomic comparison between SCCs and ACs identifies distinguishable pivotal pathways and molecules in those pathways play consistent adverse or opposite prognostic roles in ACs and SCCs.
