Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the risk factors for mortality of idiopathic inflammatory myopathy (IIM) patients admitted with interstitial lung disease (ILD) to guide rapid and accurate judgment of clinical prognosis.

Patients And Methods: This retrospective, single-center cohort study was conducted with 135 participants (37 males, 98 females; mean age: 54.8±11.

Background: Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a common pulmonary manifestation of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and is associated with a poor prognosis. However, the role of blood biomarkers in RA-associated interstitial lung disease (RA-ILD) is ill-defined. We aim to evaluate the role of YKL-40 and Krebs von den Lungen-6 (KL-6) in the diagnosis and severity evaluation of RA-ILD.

Fully understanding the mechanism of how Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) development and discovering promising therapeutic drugs are important to improve patients' survival time. This study identifies that microRNA-455-5p (miR-455-5p) targets protein phosphatase 1 regulatory subunit 12A (PPP1R12A), an effect that represses mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and PI3K/AKT pathway activation, thereby controlling CCA cells survival and metastasis. Moreover, miR-455-5p expression is reduced in CCA tissues and negative correlation with PPP1R12A and PPP1R12A knockdown phenotypic mimics miR-455-5p' effects on CCA cells.

To analyze the clinical, serological, and imaging characteristics of patients with interstitial lung diseases (ILD) positive to different anti-aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase (anti-ARS) antibodies. The clinical data, serological indexes, pulmonary high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) imaging features and pulmonary functions, and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid of 84 ILD patients with anti-ARS antibody positive in Beijing Chao-yang Hospital, Capital Medical University were reviewed.(1) Anti-ARS antibodies included anti-Jo-1 (42.

Cardiomyocytes hypertrophy and apoptosis induced by advanced glycation end products (AGEs) is the crucial pathological foundation contributing to the onset and development of diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM). However, the mechanism remains poorly understood. Here, we report that profilin-1 (PFN-1), a well-known actin-binding protein, serves as a potent regulator in AGEs-induced cardiomyocytes hypertrophy and apoptosis.

Cardiac injury, including hypertrophy and fibrosis, induced by advanced glycation end products (AGEs) has an important function in the onset and development of diabetic cardiomyopathy. Profilin‑1, a ubiquitously expressed and multifunctional actin‑binding protein, has been reported to be an important mediator in cardiac hypertrophy and fibrosis. However, whether profilin‑1 is involved in AGE‑induced cardiac hypertrophy and fibrosis remains to be determined.

BACKGROUND Serum prealbumin (PA), which is a nutritional index, has been found to be associated with severities and prognoses of various diseases. However, there are no reports about the relationship between PA and angiographic severity of coronary artery disease. MATERIAL AND METHODS This cross-sectional study included 867 patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) who underwent coronary angiography.

Objective: This study examines the impacts of an improved electrode placement on the electrocardiogram (ECG) results in order to determine a better electrode placement for ECG monitoring in children.

Methods: ECG was recorded using the traditional electrode placement and the modified electrode placement (with shortened electrode distance) respectively in 50 pediatric patients. The amplitudes of P wave and QRS wave on ECG by the two measurements were compared.
