Nanocellulose has undergone substantial development as a high value-added cellulose product with broad applications. Dried products are advantageous to decrease transportation costs. However, dried nanocellulose has redispersion challenges when rewetting.

In this work, we prepared the antibacterial materials by loading silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) on the dialdehyde cellulose (DAC) with in-situ synthesis method. DAC was prepared by pretreating cellulose fiber with sodium metaperiodate (NaIO) to convert the hydroxyl group into aldehyde group, and then reacted with silver nitrate (AgNO) to obtain AgNPs loaded on DAC.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFCellulose nanomaterials, such as cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs), have received enormous attention in various material research fields due to their unique properties and green/sustainable nature, among other qualities. Herein, we report hollow-type annular cellulose nanocrystals (HTA-CNCs), which are generated by following a high-intensity ultrasonic treatment. The advanced aberration-corrected transmission electron microscopy results reveal that HTA-CNCs exhibit ring structures with a typical diameter of 10.
