Ultrasound-assisted reverse micelle extraction and characterization of tea protein from tea residue.

Background: In this study, ultrasonic-assisted reverse micelles were used to extract tea protein from tea residues. First, the extraction conditions of ultrasonic power, ionic strength and pH were optimized by response surface methodology. Then, structural comparison of ultrasonic-assisted reverse micelle extraction of tea protein (UARME) and ultrasonic-assisted alkali extraction (UAAE) were performed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and amino acid composition.

Treatment of extracranial internal carotid artery dissecting aneurysm with SUPERA stent implantation: Two case reports.

Background: There is no standard endovascular treatment for extracranial internal carotid artery dissecting aneurysms. In the past, stent-graft isolation and stent-assisted coil embolization were commonly used for wide-necked and fusiform aneurysms. Here, we present two cases of extracranial internal carotid artery dissecting aneurysms treated successfully using the SUPERA stent.

Balloon-Assisted Thrombectomy and Intrasinus Urokinase Thrombolysis for Severe Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis.

Current clinical guidelines recommend systemic anticoagulation as the initial treatment for severe cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST). However, anticoagulation alone does not always dissolve large and extensive CVSTs in some patients. Here, we investigated the effectiveness and safety of balloon-assisted thrombectomy and intrasinus urokinase thrombolysis in our retrospective study of a series of 23 patients with CVST.

Case Report: Catheter-Directed Endovascular Thrombolysis for Refractory Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis in a Patient With Behçet Disease.

Behçet disease (BD) is an autoimmune and vasculitic disorder. BD affects the veins more frequently than the arteries. The cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) was reported to occur in about 20% of neuro-BD.

Congenital anomaly of the posterior arch of the atlas: a rare risk factor for posterior circulation stroke.

We report an extremely rare case involving a posterior arch anomaly of the atlas, causing a vertebral artery dissection (VAD) induced posterior circulation stroke. A 16-year-old girl was admitted to hospital because of new onset dizziness. VAD related multiple infarction in the posterior circulation was revealed.

[Safety analysis of CT-guided core needle lung biopsy].

Objective: To study the safety of CT-guided core needle lung biopsy.

Methods: 290 cases of core-needle lung biopsy dated from April 1996 to April 2001 were studied. Complications of core-needle lung biopsy and their incidence and relationship with puncture site, diameter of the needle and depth of the target lesion were retrospectively analyzed.
