All-solid-state lithium batteries have been developed to secure safety by substituting a flammable liquid electrolyte with a non-flammable solid electrolyte. However, owing to the nature of solids, interfacial issues between cathode materials and solid electrolytes, including chemical incompatibility, electrochemo-mechanical behavior, and physical contact, pose significant challenges for commercialization. Herein, critical factors for understanding the performance of all-solid-state batteries in terms of solid interfaces and non-zero lattice strains are identified through a strategic approach.

COVID-19 has officially been declared as the latest in the list of pandemics by WHO at the start of 2020. This study investigates the associations among decrease in economic activity, gender, age, and psychological distress during the COVID-19 pandemic considering the economic status and education level of countries using multinational surveys.

Thyroid storm caused by metastatic papillary thyroid carcinoma tissue after total thyroidectomy: a case report.

Thyroid storm is a life-threatening form of thyrotoxicosis and an endocrinological emergency. We present a case of thyroid storm in a patient with metastatic papillary thyroid cancer. A 67-year-old woman with a history of total thyroidectomy 4 years prior to presentation was admitted with deteriorating mental status, fever, and tachycardia.

Young Adult Responses to Peer Crowd-Based Targeting in E-cigarette Advertisements: An Experimental Study.

Aims: To examine the effects of psychographically targeted e-cigarette advertisements on young adults.

Methods: A total of 2100 young adults (18-29 years old) representing five peer crowds (groups with shared values, interests, and lifestyle: Mainstream, Young Professional, Hip Hop, Hipster, and Partier) were recruited from a nationwide opt-in online panel. Participants were randomly assigned to view e-cigarette advertisements featuring characters that either did or did not match their own peer crowd affiliation and evaluated advertising effectiveness using Likert-type and semantic differential scales.

Objective: To describe how young adults use electronic cigarettes (electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS)) for smoking cessation and reasons why they may or may not successfully quit smoking.

Methods: Longitudinal qualitative data were collected annually from 2017 to 2019 for 25 young adult tobacco users (aged 18-29 years) in California (USA) who used ENDS to quit/reduce smoking. Thematic and trajectory analyses were used to identify key within-person and between-person changes in tobacco/nicotine use over time.

Background: Reducing salt intake helps prevent complications of cerebrovascular disease. To help patients accept a low-sodium diet, the salty taste test is used to evaluate how much salt an individual actually consumes. The aim of this study was to help patients with hypertension reduce their salt intake by helping them recognize the difference between their subjective perception of saltiness and the objective test results.

Synthesis and Characterization of Spirocyclic Mid-Block Containing Triblock Copolymer.

Polymers containing cyclic derivatives are a new class of macromolecular topologies with unique properties. Herein, we report the synthesis of a triblock copolymer containing a spirocyclic mid-block. To achieve this, a spirocyclic polystyrene (cPS) mid-block was first synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) using a tetra-functional initiator, followed by end-group azidation and a copper (I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction.

This RCD discusses a recent decision by the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit that struck down Puerto Rico's Act 90-2019, which aimed to regulate pay structures for Medicare Advantage insurers in Puerto Rico. The court found that the provision in Act 90, known as the "Mandated Price Provision," is preempted by federal law. However, the author argues that the court's decision did not adequately consider the congressional intent of the Medicare Advantage Act in weighing the public health crisis in Puerto Rico.

We retrospectively analyzed National Health Insurance claims data (January 2002-December 2018) to determine the asthma prevalence and risk factors among preterm infants born in Korea. Patients with asthma were defined as those with a history of asthma medication prescriptions at least twice per year with International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Edition codes J45 and J46. Effects of time of bed rest on vascular complications after cardiac catheterization in pediatric patients with congenital heart disease: A randomized controlled trial.

Background: Pediatric cardiac catheterization, which is performed by accessing the femoral vessel, requires immobilization and bed rest for 4-6 h to prevent vascular complications. Studies in adults suggest that the immobilization time for the same access can be safely reduced to approximately 2 h after catheterization. However, it is unclear whether bed-rest time can be safely decreased after catheterization in children.
