Background: Group B Streptococcus (GBS) bacteremia in nonpregnant adults is of increasing concern, particularly among the elderly in underlying conditions. This study analyzed the serotype distribution, antimicrobial resistance patterns, and clinical characteristics of GBS bacteremia in nonpregnant adults over a 15-year period in two tertiary hospitals in Korea.
Methods: From 2007 to 2021, patients aged ≥ 19 years with GBS bacteremia were identified via retrospective electronic medical record review.
Purpose: To investigate correlations among clinical, immunohistochemical, and biochemical characteristics of epiretinal membranes (ERMs) and their prognostic implications.
Methods: This prospective study included 120 patients with idiopathic ERM who underwent vitrectomy. Preoperative and postoperative best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and optical coherence tomography (OCT) were measured.

Methods: We conducted a pseudo-patient, cross-sectional study in 196 private dental clinics with 58 pseudo-patients in South Korea between August and December 2018. Trained pseudo-patients with no previous oral diseases, including dental caries, diagnosed by two experienced dentists, were sent to each dental clinic.

Magnetic ionic liquids (MILs) have proven effective as capture reagents for foodborne bacterial pathogens; however, there are currently no published studies regarding their use with foodborne, non-enveloped viruses. In this study, a protocol was evaluated for capture and recovery of bacteriophage MS2, a human norovirus surrogate, and purified viral genomic single stranded RNA (ssRNA) from an aqueous suspension using MILs. Transition metal-based MILs showed similar capture and recovery efficiency for both targets.

Here, we integrate a wide variety of genomic data generated by the 4D Nucleome Project to provide a detailed view of human 3D genome organization in widely used embryonic stem cells (H1-hESCs) and immortalized fibroblasts (HFFc6).
