Background: The recovery of injured peripheral nerves relies on angiogenesis, where newly formed blood vessels act as pathways guiding Schwann cells across the wound to support axon regeneration. While some research has examined this process, the specific mechanisms of angiogenesis in peripheral nerve healing remain unclear. This study analyzed the nutritional composition, bioactive compounds, antioxidant activities and estimated potential renal acid load (PRAL) score of orange-fleshed sweet potato (OFSP) grown in Vietnam. In addition, important functional groups of carotenoid compounds in OFSP were identified by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR); carotenoid pigments were detected and quantified by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The results showed that, OFSP had outstanding physicochemical characteristics, containing many nutrients, bioactive substances, minerals and fiber.

This study was conducted to optimize the foam-mat drying conditions to maximize quality [β-carotene and total polyphenol content (TPC)] and drying rate of "Gấc" aril powder by using two novel statistical techniques as Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) couple with Genetic Algorithm (GA). During production process, level of egg albumin (EA) used for foaming process and drying temperature mainly influenced the drying rate and content of antioxidant compounds in powder. Severe vascular and nerve damage from diabetes is a leading cause of erectile dysfunction (ED) and poor response to oral phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors. Argonaute 2 (Ago2), a catalytic engine in mammalian RNA interference, is involved in neurovascular regeneration under inflammatory conditions. In the present study, we report that Ago2 administration can effectively improve penile erection by enhancing cavernous endothelial cell angiogenesis and survival under diabetic conditions.
