The ovary is the first organ to age in the human body, affecting both fertility and overall health. However, the biological mechanisms underlying human ovarian aging remain poorly understood. Here we present a comprehensive single-nuclei multi-omics atlas of four young (ages 23-29 years) and four reproductively aged (ages 49-54 years) human ovaries.

Utilizing Relative Citation Ratio to Compare Academic Productivity by Gender in Plastic Surgery.

Introduction: The relative citation ratio (RCR) is a bibliometric index utilized to assess research productivity. Mean relative citation ratio (m-RCR) and weighted relative citation ratio (w-RCR) can be utilized to assess individual research quality as well as career-long productivity, respectively. We sought to determine differences in academic productivity between genders and identify demographic variables associated with increased academic productivity.

Hot flashes and sleep disruption in a randomized trial in menopausal women.

Background: Hot flashes, common during menopause, affect up to 80% of the Western menopausal women and are reported to contribute to sleep disturbances in midlife. Few prospective data are available to confirm the specific role of hot flashes in disrupting sleep in midlife women, however, or confirm whether changes in hot flashes in response to clinical therapies result in improvement in sleep.

Objective: To examine the effects of continuous nitroglycerin therapy on sleep quality in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women with frequent hot flashes (pre-specified secondary trial endpoint) and to examine prospective associations between hot flashes and sleep disruption in this population.
