Scintillation screens are widely used to diagnose high-charge density, low-average current electron beams from laser wakefield accelerators (LWFAs). X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, reflection-absorption infrared spectroscopy, and temperature-programmed reaction/desorption have been employed to investigate the reaction of CH3-CHCl-C(=O)Cl on Cu (100), with the aid of density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Experimentally, CH3-CH=C=O (methylketene) is found to be the product from the dechlorination of CH3-CHCl-C(=O)Cl on Cu(100) at 120 K. The CH3-CH=C=O generated on the surface would dimerize to form 2,4-dimethylcyclobutane-1,3-dione below 180 K.

The fast-moving field of photodynamic therapy (PDT) has provided fresh opportunities to expand the potential of metallodrugs to combat cancers in a light-controlled manner. As such, in the present study, a series of cyclometalated Ir(III) complexes modified with a tetrazine functional group (namely, Ir-ppy-Tz, Ir-pbt-Tz, and Ir-dfppy-Tz) are developed as potential two-photon photodynamic anticancer agents. Deficiency of Adenosine Deaminase 2 (DADA2) patients presenting with primary immunodeficiency are at risk of uncontrolled EBV infection and secondary malignancies including EBV-related lymphoproliferative disorders (LPD). This paper describes the first case of EBV related diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in a patient with DADA2 and uncontrolled EBV infection. Consideration should be given to monitoring for EBV viraemia and to preventative EBV specific therapy in DADA2 and patients with at risk primary immunodeficiencies.
