Objective To study the effects of ligustrazine on the expression of heme oxygenase 1 (HO-1)/carbon monoxide (CO), inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS)/nitric oxide (NO) and tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) in the submandibular glands (SMGs) of diabetic rats and their implications. Methods Thirty SD rats were randomly divided into control group, diabetic mellitus (DM) group and ligustrazine group, with 10 rats in each group. The control group received no treatment.
