The gut microbiota-oligodendrocyte axis: A promising pathway for modulating oligodendrocyte homeostasis and demyelination-associated disorders.

The bidirectional regulation between the gut microbiota and brain, known as gut-brain axis, has received significant attention. The myelin sheath, produced by oligodendrocytes or Schwann cells, is essential for efficient nervous signal transmission and the maintenance of brain function. Growing evidence shows that both oligodendrogenesis and myelination are modulated by gut microbiota and its metabolites, and when dysbiosis occurs, changes in the microbiota composition and/or associated metabolites may impact developmental myelination and the occurrence of neurodevelopmental disabilities.

AneuGuide™ software-assisted vs. manual measurements in sizing for pipeline embolization device: An agreement study.

Sizing of flow diverters (FDs) is a challenging task in the treatment of intracranial aneurysms due to their foreshortening behavior. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the difference between the sizing results from the AneuGuide™ software and from conventional 2D measurement. Ninety-eight consecutive patients undergoing pipeline embolization device (PED) treatment between October 2018 and April 2023 in the First Medical Center of Chinese PLA General Hospital (Beijing, China) were retrospectively analyzed.

Potassium-rich brine deposit in Lop Nor basin, Xinjiang, China.

Lop Nor potash deposit is the largest sulfate-type liquid potassium salt deposit in China, consisting of three areas: Xinqing platform, Luobei depression, and Tenglong platform. In this study, the geological background, basin structure, and fracture system of the deposit, along with the brine storage size of the three ore bodies are introduced in detail, using underground brine elevation models of the mining areas. We collected 91 samples of brine from long-term observation boreholes in the Lop Nor ore district, and analyzed their ion contents.
