Background: This study conducted a comparative analysis among newborns with varying levels of hyperbilirubinemia, explored the relationships between magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) image features and serum bilirubin levels in hyperbilirubinemia, and proposed an automatic classification system based on deep learning (DL) for prediction of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia (NHB).

Methods: This retrospective study enrolled 606 consecutive neonates who had their serum bilirubin detected at the Xi'an Fourth Hospital, including 273 cases of patients and 333 cases of normal controls. After data preprocessing, MRI images were fed into the Inception-v3 network, graph convolutional network (GCN), and 3-dimensional (3D) patch-based GCN that introduced the graph attention mechanism (our GCN) for NHB analysis and classification, respectively.

Thermoviscosifying polymers refer to a category of smart materials that exhibit a responsive behavior to environmental stimuli, specifically demonstrating a natural rise in viscosity of solutions as the temperature increases. The temperature-dependent behavior exhibited by thermally viscous polymers renders them potentially advantageous in the context of Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). There exists a dearth of research pertaining to the application of thermoviscosifying polymer for better recovery in reservoirs characterized by high temperatures and high salt content.

Humans and animals exhibit various forms of prosocial helping behaviour towards others in need. Although previous research has investigated how individuals may perceive others' states, the neural mechanisms of how they respond to others' needs and goals with helping behaviour remain largely unknown. Here we show that mice engage in a form of helping behaviour towards other individuals experiencing physical pain and injury-they exhibit allolicking (social licking) behaviour specifically towards the injury site, which aids the recipients in coping with pain.
