Introduction: Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) is the most common viral infection seen in newborns. The major route of transmission for acquired human cytomegalovirus infection is breast milk from mothers who are HCMV seropositive to the infants. Thus, a rapid, economical, and simple method to perform HCMV test in breast milk is crucial and necessary for preventing acquired HCMV infection, especially in underdeveloped regions with limited laboratory resources.

This study was dedicated to investigating the glucolipid and reproductive hormone levels of female patients, and to preliminarily investigating their relationships with cognition.
Methods: A total of 58 unmedicated female BD patients, 61 stable-medicated female BD patients, and 63 healthy controls (HC) were recruited in this study.
Background: Clinical studies have reported that patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) have a higher prevalence of hypertension.
Aim: To performed a bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to investigate the causal link between GERD and essential hypertension.
Methods: Eligible single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were selected, and weighted median, inverse variance weighted (IVW) as well as MR egger (MR-Egger) regression were used to examine the potential causal association between GERD and hypertension.
Herein we aimed at exploring mitochondrial energy metabolism status in patients with repeated implantation failure (RIF) and whether key regulatory factor PGC-1α of energy metabolism is involved in the decidualization of endometrial stromal cells. Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation level and ATP synthesis were compared in primary endometrial stromal cells from RIF and control group. At the same time, as one of key transcription regulators of mitochondrial energy metabolism, the expression level and acetylation level of PGC-1α were compared with two groups.

It is an urgent task to develop a simple but efficient sensing platform for UO, the main existing form of uranium in environment. Herein, a rhodamine-functionalized carbon dots (o-CDs-Rho) was synthesized and applied for UO sensing through a simple but novel aggregation-enhanced FRET strategy.

Objective: To compare the values of transvaginal ultrasound (TVU) and Bishop score (BS) for predicting outcomes of induction of labor (IOL).
Methods: The BS and TVU were assessed before IOL. TVU parameters included cervical length (CL) and E-Cervix comprising the cervical hard ratio (HR) and the mean strain level of internal os (IOS).
Pursuits of new types of Pb-free heterometallic halides adequate for photovoltaic applications are still urgent but challenging. In this study, by using -produced [(Me)-(DABCO)] (DABCO = 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.

Trehalose, the main sugar in insect blood, plays a crucial role as an instant energy source. Although the trehalose level is modulated following infection with Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV), the mechanism of trehalose metabolism in response to BmNPV infection is still unclear.

A spatial element model is established, which can show the state of the nodes between joint surfaces when they are stretched, compressed, or twisted; and it can help build a woodworking CNC machining center on a finite element model of bed with the characteristics of the joint surface. The simulated analysis is performed on the model and is compared with the result of simulated analysis on the bed model that ignores the characteristics of the joint surface and modal experiment.

Based on previous studies by us and others, we divided the patients into low (< 4 IU/L), medium (4-10 IU/L), and high (> 10 IU/L) LH groups. The study utilized a comparison control group design with three groups of 10 patients.

CD38 B cells are an immune cell fraction involved in the pathogenesis of allergic diseases as well as in immune regulation.
Objective: We sought to elucidate the role of antigen-specific CD38 B cells in AIT.
The combination of photodynamic therapy (PDT) and chemotherapy is a prospective strategy to improve antitumor efficacy. Herein, a series of novel cytotoxic chlorin-based derivatives as dual photosensitizers (PSs) and histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDACIs) were synthesized and investigated for biological activity. Among them, compound 15e showed definite HDAC2 and 10 inhibitory activities by up-regulating expression of acetyl-H4 and highest phototoxicity and dark-toxicity, which was more phototoxic than Talaporfin as a PS while with stronger dark-toxicity compared to vorinostat (SAHA) as a HDACI.

Methods: A total of 585 patients who had received targeted therapy or palliative chemotherapy (PCT) from April 2007 to December 2018 at the Department of Integrated Therapy of Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center were included in this retrospective study. The patients' social demographic and clinical data were collected, and variables judged to be independent predictors of PCT or targeted therapy were selected for univariate and multivariate analyses of differences.
Research Question: Granulosa cells (GCs) surrounding oocytes are crucial for follicular growth, oocyte development, ovulation, and luteinization under the dynamic co-stimulation of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). This study aimed to investigate the effect of LH levels on GCs in preovulatory follicles under gonadotropin releasing hormone antagonist-based ovarian stimulation. In vitro experiments were also conducted to study the direct effect of LH on GCs.

The aims of this study were to establish reference values of PWV for ultrafast ultrasound imaging in a prospective, multicenter, population-based cohort study and to investigate the main determinants of carotid PWV.
Methods: A total of 1,544 healthy Han Chinese volunteers (581 men [38%]; age range, 18-95 years) were enrolled from 32 collaborating laboratories in China.
Aims: Previous studies found a relationship between elevated phenylalanine levels and poor cardiovascular outcomes. Potential strategies are available to manipulate phenylalanine metabolism. This study investigated whether increased phenylalanine predicted mortality in critical patients with either acute heart failure (HF) or acute on chronic HF, and its correlation with inflammation and immune cytokines.

In this study, the authors observed that ELF3-AS1 was upregulated in NSCLC tissues in comparison with that in paired nontumor tissues collected from 68 NSCLC patients. High expression levels of ELF3-AS1 predicted the poor survival of NSCLC patients.

Due to the increasing pollution by petroleum hydrocarbons (PHs), it is an important task to develop eco-friendly and highly efficient methods for remediating petroleum-contaminated soils. In this study, bioremediation technology was applied to remediate PHs contaminated soils, and the bacterial community structure and physicochemical characteristics of the soil treated using different bioremediation regimens were analyzed. Compared with the control condition (S0), the PHs removal efficiency of biostimulation (S2) and bioaugmentation (S3) was increased significantly.
